OK.............

I am about to order a gaming computer but I still do not understand the deal with the outputs of the video card.

The deal is this: I have a HDTV that uses (naturally) component inputs. Just hooking wires to the inputs will not necessarily give you HD. I bought this thinking that it would convert VGA but no, all you get is s-video quality.

I am going to get the Radeon x800 Pro which supposedly is HD. However when I asked them they responded thus:

Regards,:

Which is fine and good but it does not say that the damn signal is at the stated resolution!

Am I crazy? Is my question even clear? Does anyone know about this stuff?

Thank you.

I just got my dad a 9600 AIW, for a TV capture, so I think I understand your problem.

ATI told you that you can set the card to send out the signal in any of those modes, You need to see what your HDTV takes.

You are also going to need one of these I think.

That should work.
