Britain's top medium, Derek Acorah fails yet again to get the necessary information from his faithfull spirit guide "Sam" to avoid somewhat embarassing predicament (http://icliverpool.icnetwork.co.uk/0100news/0100regionalnews/tm_objectid=14399976&method=full&siteid=50061&headline=celebrity-medium-faces-delay-in-drink-drive-case-name_page.html)

"Drink-driving" is an awkward term, isn't it?
Maybe Sam was drunk as well. ;)

Interesting.
I wonder what the precidential case is that they are waiting for.
Perhaps he accepts that he was drunk but his spirit guide was sober.
Or perhaps it is that he was too drunk to use the breathalyser properly.
Either way I don’t think scumbags like this should get off on a technicality.
268mg isn’t even close to the limit. Given about 40mg a pint he had about 6½ pints worth. Not counting that which had been dissipated or not absorbed yet we are looking at driving after a fair old session, reactions are bound to be affected.
Mind you I note it was in Liverpool. He did well to drink for that long and find his car was still outside and hadn’t been nicked.

I love this:
"Mr Acorah who lists Cher, Burt Reynolds and Joan Collins among his clientele..."
Classy!

This is what happens when you drive under the influence of spirits.
I thankyou.

There was a case a couple of years ago where a woman tried to claim that her right to a fair trial had been infringed because she'd had to sign a document saying that she was driving the car at the time in question - i.e. she had to self-incriminate herself, or face an extra charge of not self-incriminating.
She lost that case IIRC but it is possible that it has only just now made its way to the House of Lords on appeal.
Or it might be something else, who knows?

The biggest woo I know personally is my friends dad, who's house is feng shued and full of dreamcatchers, pewter dragons holding energy crystal and other useless paraphernalia.
But recently my friend took his dad to see his favourite psychic medium, Derek Acorah, live and he was thoroughly dissapointed.
When they got back he was shown a TV clip of Derek performing that stage classic, Table Tipping.
The conversation went something like this:
Friend - "So whats happening there, Dad?"
Dad - "Well its the ...er.. residual energy from the ..er.. decea.."
Friend - "...He's pushing it, isn't he?"
Dad - "...Yeah."
Keep up the good work, Derek. You're the antidote for wooism.

I wonder if this might be the debate? (http://www.parliament.the-stationery-office.co.uk/pa/ld200304/ldjudgmt/jd041014/gen4-3.htm). It starts at Item 34.
I'm sure the surname of the defendant is a mere coincidence

Here are some worrying fans of Derek:

Yes it really does say "Derek's Disciples" on their T-Shirts.
And don't look too closely at that girl's deely-boppers.
These girls all took advantage of this great offer (http://www.wisit.co.uk/mystical/ghost_evenings.htm)
Yes you can pay to sit in a pub's cellar all night.
It's a marketing masterstroke.
I'm sure if I claimed my shed in my garden was haunted I could make a fortune.

Its the chance of a lifetime! I'm particularly convinced by these orbs.

It's spooky the way they appear in shades of grey in a sepia image.

Derek's fans are not a good sample to judge the rest of the UK's female population. They tend to be.. uh.. lacking something.
