View Full Version : Need info: Countries voting against resolution

I've heard a few stories on the radio recently, about the recent attempted resolution and the countries voting against it. Unfortunately, radio isn't a very 'permanent' medium, and I'm wondering if anyone has any information on this from other sources:

In one story, I had heard that the leader of Cameroon was going to vote in support of a resolution, until he contacted his witch doctor (who told him to vote against it).

In another story, one of the diplomats of a country voting against the resolution said that they voted against the resolution out of spite. (Something about them being annoyed with Chile because they took credit for trying some compromise.)

Again, I can't verify whether there is any truth to either story. I'm just looking to see if there is a kernel of truth to either of them.

Which reolution? AFAIK, the US/UK axis never even put theirs to the vote.

Dunno if this might help (http://www.guardian.co.uk/international/story/0,3604,909953,00.html); it outlines the views of the "wobblers"...
