I've read about this video before, where Saddam reads names of suspected traitors to his political party while smoking a cigar and the suspects are then shot, but where can I view it or download it? Anybody know?

Thanks.

There's a bit of it here early in part 2 somewhere (it's described as news footage on page 20 of the transcript), the rest is also worth watching. http://www.channel4.co.uk/news/2003/special_reports/iraq_hard_place.html

But I'm sure someone else will supply you with a better link.

Thanks a ton, Jim.

Anybody else want to contribute?

I saw the video. Pretty creepy. He names the names, the guys get up and are escorted out (some object and are quickly muscled out the door.) None ever seen again. Everyone left in the room wiping their brows and their eyes of sweat and tears. Including cigar-smoking Saddam. Creepy.

Of course, those guys were "suspected traitors", not actual suspected traitors. Just guys Saddam didn't want to have around for whatever reason, including one of his best friends.

No link, but if it helps you to know it definitely exists, I can confirm it. It was used in the BBC programme "Postcards from the Axis of Evil".

(Good series, that.)
