He is good old GW trying to get his new machine started

I think he it may be out of gas so he may find the need to secure a few more oil fields in the middle east to fill it up.

I may be wrong but doesn't the entire world run on oil??

The irony is, removing Saddam will most likely prevent the next world war. That war being set off by a conflict between Iraq and Israel.

Well we could get the enviromentalists to actually think for a moment and drill ANWAR instead of trying to gain control over Iraq and their oil. This is really a tired and failed point though. Blaming the cause on oil? The US can and indeed will create a change in Iraq, make no mistake about it. But we won't be doing it for control of oil. We won't be making a claim to the oil of Iraq as Iraq tried to do with Kuwait. That would completely nullify the reasoning behind the invasion. I know. It may justify 90% of the comments made by people like you and UCE and AUP, but, as has been said in public speech, it's the Iraquis people's oil. It's their money to be made. all the US could hope to do via oil in this case is to free it up a little more, allow better people to control the money from it for their own people and lower prices of it around the world.

I'm saddened that some want to find some greedy reason behind everything and try to blame anything and everything on something "big". Big business, big cars, big oil. No offense but it sounds more like jealousy and envy than anything else. Some of you should blame it on big penisis. :p

Its nice that you have the freedom to put your pictures up. Without fear of someone coming and knocking on your door in the middle of the night. Cool.

Maybe that's when the night nurse gives him some extra sedatives?

No. I do not think he will start WWIII but that is not for want of trying.
He would of loved to put in self in JFK's shoes 40 years ago so he could of made that a reality.

IIRC didn't Kennedy force the Russians to backdown by standing his ground and promising "serious consequences" if they didn't get those missiles out of Cuba?

That's exactly what JFK did.

How old did you say you are?

I also recall Kennedy compromising with Russia about removing missles from Turkey. Without Kennedy taking that wise step there's probably a good chance the US would be a glowing parking lot right now.

I have not seen any compromise from Bush...

Yes I think JFK did make a very wise move, here is a transcript I found here (http://www.hpol.org/transcript.asp?id=23)

After a ticker tape comes in saying that Khrushchev has offered publicly to trade the missiles in Cuba for the US missiles in Turkey, JFK argues that "we are going to be in an insupportable position on this matter if this becomes his proposal. In the first place, last year we tried to get the missiles out of there because they were not militarily useful - number 1. Number 2 - it's going to look to any man at the United Nations or any other rational man like a very fair trade." (41:42)

Kennedy continues: "I think you're going to find it very difficult to explain why we are going to take hostile military action in Cuba, against these sites, ...[when] the thing that he's saying is, 'If you'll get yours out of Turkey, we'll get ours out of Cuba.' I think we've got a very tough one here."(43:57) "I think you have to assume that this is their new and latest position and it's a public one." (44:23)

Saddam was given the opportunity to gather up a bagload of money, hop on a plane, and life out his days in opulent exile.
