View Full Version : Matriarchal Cultural Terror In W. VA.

A statue built to honor women veterans (http://story.news.yahoo.com/news?tmpl=story&u=/ap/20030306/ap_on_fe_st/women_veterans_statue_1) is about to be unveiled in W.VA. The problem is that everyone who looks at the statue can't see a woman standing there.
Does that matter? I would think it would. Women look much different than men. When men look at women, they see a woman. When women look at men they see a man.
But in the blurred logic of the matriarchal world-view, the only thing that matters is that women are men. Biology is irrevelant.
As quoted in the article: "It's going to look like a female; it might not be very feminine," he said. "It will look like a nice, big, strong girl who's been through military training."
Oh, so in other words, the statue looks like a man. Now everyone in W.VA. has to look at a statue of a man that is supposed to be a woman. That may be appealing to lesbians, but not to men. The statue is a lie because women look...like women.

Hello all!
Since I live in West Virginia and I work near the place where this statue is to be placed, I would like to tell you all the truth about it.
First, there have been a few people to complain about the statue that is being commissioned, because they would like it to look more feminine.
Second, there were also people who complained about the Civil Rights Memorial, the Statue of Liberty, the Washington Monument, Mt. Rushmore, and so on; it is impossible to get 100% agreement from the public on any issue! But in this case, I urge those who want see the actual facts for themselves to please take a look at the West Virginia new media and one will not find any nasty op-ed commentaries or editorials about the statue.
In any case, there will always be someone who will not like what is being done with these sorts of things, it has nothing to do with "Matriarchal Cultural Terror", and the real fact is that Jedi Knight does not know what he is talking about.
By the way, I did not say it would be easy, I just said it would be the truth.

I am still trying to find the terror. Who is terrified by this? For terror to happen, somebody has to be terrified. So who is scared by a statue?
Abuse a word often enough and eventually the meaning is lost.

I don't know about the whole "women look like women" thing. I'm in the Navy and have seen more than a few women who look like men. Granted, not even most of them, but a sizeable percentage.

In that picture that you linked there is a woman there, or at least the likeness of a woman.
That is different from the statue which looks like a man, and yet is being called a woman.

ALMNAS, Sweden (Reuters) - Sweden's Crown Princess Victoria demonstrated her combat and first aid skills to the media on Tuesday as part of a three-week military training course to prepare her for international peacekeeping missions.
The 25-year-old princess, the oldest of the three children of King Carl XVI Gustaf and Queen Silvia, told Reuters in her fatigues, camouflage facepaint and full battle equipment that the course had been good but tiring.
...
Victoria completed a one-kilometer forced march in full combat gear in less than 5 minutes, a time that almost qualified her for Special Forces duty, said Captain Lars Wetterskog.

What I do know is that when you make statues of men and call them women, that is a lie. Since it is a lie, that makes those who are doing it liars with an agenda. So if a sculptist was to make a statue of her, the statue would have large breasts, wide hips and a woman's face, right?
Or would they make her into a man?

Who is the intended victim here. I sure don't feel threatened. JK, are you afraid? Is that why you call this terrorism? Maybe you have an anxiety problem?
Also look around once in a while JK. Large breasts are no more common than small ones. Also I don't think most female soldiers wear wonder bras while in uniform. That sort of thing would just get in the way.

It seems to me that the women fighters/warriors in all of the Bond movies, use their gernades and machine guns, etc. and dress in G-strings, Bikinis, skin-tight (form enhancing) leatards (sp?), etc. Clearly, the statues we build to the women who serve the nation should reflect that reality.:D

Here's a mounument for you: the Soldiers and Sailors Monument (http://www.legis.state.ia.us/Pubinfo/Tour/grounds/grounds.htm) across the street from the Iowa state capitol building in Des Moines, IA. The state's description of the monument includes the following:On the north side, a statue portrays Iowa as a mother offering nourishment to her children.Translation: the monument features a topless woman holding up her bare breasts. This statue has been a premiere source of pointing and giggling for Iowa schoolchildren for over a century. The Allison monument is nearby, and it too features a topless woman who symbolizes "The Republic."

Wrong again on both counts JK! You are about as dense on events in West Virginia as you are in physics.
In the first place, the money for the statue comes from the state of West Virginia and from private donations.
It does not come from the US taxpayers (except those who pay West Virginia state taxes).
In the second place, the statue does portray a woman. Please see what the artist had to say about it.
http://www.pulse24.com/News/Strange_But_True/20030306-001/page.asp
[artist Joseph Mullins points out that the statue isn’t a] “runway model and not a Playboy bunny. It's going to look like a female; it might not be very feminine. It will look like a nice, big, strong girl who's been through military training.”
In the third place, the artist is a military veteran and has done other work regarding the honoring of military veterans.
http://www.appaltree.net/vet/
Sculptor Joe Mullins, pictured at his studio (The Arterie) in Charleston, WV, was selected in 1987 to design the West Virginia Veterans Memorial on the Capitol grounds.
...
A Vietnam veteran himself, Joe was recently commissioned to design a bronze statue honoring the state's women veterans.
In the fourth place, do yourself a favor and just stop talking now because you are just making yourself look increasingly foolish!

It doesn't matter what tax-payers paid for the hunk of junk. What matters is that they did and it should be something that reflects a female pose, not a male pose.
If it wasn't an issue, the leftist media wouldn't have brought it up for the nation to read about. The leftist media probably found it particularly funny that statues of men are now being hailed as statues of women. I do not think it is funny. When I look at a statue and there is a woman's name attached to it, I do not expect to see a statue with a penis and a mustache. I expect to see big breasts, a woman's waist, long hairless legs and no hair under the armpits, and no eyebrows connected together in the middle of the forehead. That is what I expect to see when I see a statue of a woman.

Your delusional beliefs? I don't think that a statue made of a man and called a woman is delusional, just another example of perversionist political correctness bordering on being delusional. Matriarchal totalitarianism is a delusional ideology, but the matriarchal cultural terrorism in this example is a minor delusion. The grand delusion is women thinking they are biologically the same as men.
Only Prozac candidates think women are biologically equal to men.

Men can't have babies. Does that make them inferior?
Each gender has its own strengths and weaknesses.
To assert that women are not biological "equals" is misogyny pure and simple.

That's nuts. Men can't have babies because God made that choice. God made the choice for women to have babies. God made the choice for the locations that people would be born.
God also made men physically stronger than women. On the historical battlefields of the world, men have been the primary fighting force because women are easy to kill. It isn't that men discriminate against women on the battlefield, it is the inescapable truth that women can be bayoneted with ease, much easier than men because women are not as physically strong as men.
Now, you may find one out of one thousand woman who can compete on the battlefield in direct combat action to the level of men, but just because one out of one thousand can, it is obvious that 975 out of one thousand men who can proves that men are pysically more suited for warfare.
Again, that is not discrimination by men, but a biological feature attributed to men by God. The battlefield sets its own standards. The battlefield does not respect the illusion of gender equality.
Knowing that then, I can see where some women would be so jealous of men that they would try to sneak in a statue of a man in uniform and call it a woman. It fits with the delusional unreality of modern political correctness and matriarchal cultural terrorism.

Liberal and moderate women are not different from conservative women biologically (well, perhaps conservative women's minds are much more clear), but conservative women understand that God made them that way and since God made them they do not wish they were men. Many liberal women wish they were born men. They curse God that they were not given penises instead of vaginas.

It seems that God was just about done creating the universe. The Lord had a couple of leftovers in his bag of creations, so he stopped by to visit Adam and Eve in the Garden. He told the couple that one of the things he had to give away was the ability to urinate while standing up. "It can be very handy," God explained to Adam and Eve. "Would either of you like that
ability?"
Adam popped a cork. He jumped up and begged, "Oh, give that to me! It seems the sort of thing a man should be able to do. Please, Lord, let me have that ability. I would be forever grateful."
Eve just smiled and shook her head at Adam's display. She told God that if Adam really wanted it so badly, then she really wouldn't mind if he were the one given the ability to urinate while standing up. And so, the Lord gave Adam the ability to urinate while standing up. Then, He looked back into his bag of leftover gifts. "Now, what have we here? Oh, yes, multiple orgasms..."

Thats right Jedi, thats your cultural expectation. That is your image of a woman. So If you are going to impose your cultural norms onto artists, who is the cultural terrorists? The National socialist party in Germany tried a similar thing. They banned "modern" impressionism. All pictures of men and women would match the Aryan blueprint. Artisic expression was to be controlled.

Women's legs and armpits have hair. This is a natural female secondary sexual characteristic that comes with puberty.
If you're going to argue that people are wrong for ignoring biology, you should be consistent. You should argue that women ought not remove the hair that God intended for them to have.

Liberal and moderate women are not different from conservative women biologically (well, perhaps conservative women's minds are much more clear), but conservative women understand that God made them that way and since God made them they do not wish they were men. Many liberal women wish they were born men. They curse God that they were not given penises instead of vaginas.
What the F*ck do you mean about women wanting to have penises instead of vaginas?
Is it the type of argument of someone who worked as an intelligent militar?
Do you have evidence that liberal women wish that?
You are a little bit insane, but I still find you very funny. That's why I really don't bother too much with your statements.
Smile :)

From the article: "It would have been nice if we could have had a statue that looked more like a woman," said Sen. Anita Caldwell, vice chairwoman of the Senate Military Committee.
The information I am forming my opinion on comes from the article. When a woman says a statue is not feminine enough, there is a problem.

That is what I expect to see when I see a statue of a woman.

I take it from the above comment, and the many others that he has made, that JK is far too much of a genius to actually look at the statue before complaining about it.
I, however, am in the process of getting some photos of this statue and I will post them when they become available because I think that everyone here, save JK, would actually like to see this statue before making a judgement about it.

Actually what the real issue is Q-Source is that as a feminist you do not encounter non-politically correct opinions like mine very often. You exist in the protected shell of the policially correct Orwellian European fantasy where the mere mentioning of anything that goes against the radical matriarchal fascist agenda is a taboo.
If you find my moderate opinions on this subject offensive, so what. Ask someone who cares.
I think a statue that is supposed to be a woman should look like a woman, not a man. If that sends waves of despair through you for me even bringing it up and if it "offends" you, forgive me for laughing hysterically.
Many feminists regret being born women. They simply have to. It is part of their pathology. If it weren't, they wouldn't spend every waking moment of their lives trying to convince everyone they are really men. You know, going as far as making statues of men and calling them women, etc.

Minus the elven features, these are the healthy dimentions (http://www.nvidia.com/docs/IO/3648/SUPP/large01.jpg) that I expect to see in female statues. Now, even though she is a computer animation, it is quite clear that she is not a man, right?

I like a female statue to look female too.

The only reason Jk wants statue with big boobs is so that he can shelter under them from the rain ;)( i have you sussed(hi))

Oh dear.
JK, not all women have big breasts, or small waists, or wide hips. Not all women have long hair. Those who do, and who serve in the military, I would imagine tie it back. Not all women can manage a bikini wax on the battlefield. Its really hard to drive a tank in stilettos. Without somewhere to plug in the tongs, it's nigh on impossible to curl your hair.
Why don't you just admit that you have a pre-conceived stereotype of what a woman should look like, but then be adult enough to admit that its a crock. Trust me, with those proportions, Barbie wouldn't be able to walk, let alone fight.

Well sock-puppet, my view of the statue in the picture is that it is not the original one that they wanted but reshaped it because of complaints.
I am thinking that the statue did not look like that initially and was altered to give it more feminine characteristics, but I didn't see the first version. That said, I think it is important that the statue have breasts large enough to distinguish it between male/female easily by anyone that sees it and the rest really doesn't matter. They will probably throw an 'angry' head on the statue anyway.
But if they call it a chick, there must be some feature that decisively makes it a chick.

There was no 'first' version of the staute. The one in the photo is one that the artist is going to submit for jurying. It is the only one he has ever done for this contract and there are no others that he did. Nor are there any 'angry heads' for this statue, if approved, that model will be the image that will be bronzed.
OK now?
And what about those 50 million that Lenin killed? I was not aware of any such thing so I would like to know where this data came from. It sounds like you are getting Lenin mixed up with Stalin, and Stalin came to power after Lenin died.
