THE attitude, body-language and tone of the President last Thursday night managed to convey in a passive form what many of his aides are thinking in an active fashion.
He looked - to the evident alarm of the TV critics - as if he was becoming dangerously bored with the whole argument about Iraq.
How tedious it is to have to say all of this, in ABC fashion, again. How dull to be compelled to act polite, to reiterate the obvious, and to remember that he is speaking to a global audience as well as a local one.
And yet how satisfying, if one has so often been teased for being stupid, to state a case that has been learned by heart and that hasn't yet been mastered even by one's most show-off fellow pupils.
(Yes teacher, Resolution 1441 means what it says and contains the clauses of its own enforcement. No teacher, we don't assume that we are dealing with Belgium or Luxembourg here. Some presumption of past and future guilt is pardonable when talking of Saddam Hussein)
Then the fatigue that comes from dealing with all the boring questions yet again.
What about the inspectors, the Security Council, the charge of being "unilateralist"?
Although this article is kind of outdated, I still think it is interesting and unique.

you should try a little harder.
maybe write in all caps next time.
Bush answered the extremely stupid questions like anyone who isnt full of s**t would. The questions are dull, cliched and are easily answered with a split second of thought.
The questions asked where only asked to put on a show, not to address anything real.
none of those people have the spine to ask real questions or accuse the President of conspiracy..........because they're jobs are on the line.
This argument sounds like a highschool gossip trap to me...............Hitchens is supporting Bush anyway.

What enthrallment? All I said was that I thought it was interesting and unique. It seems that I, unlike you, look at opposing views with an open mind. Your lack of critical analysis illistrates YOUR small mindedness.

Good, insightful argument. Hitchens is always worth reading.
So what crawled up your ass and died, DD?

It's really wonderful that everyone has begun to give credence to Christopher Hitchens.
Oh! That's right, he is a former lefty who has seen the light and realised where the Truth is....

So what crawled up your ass and died, DD? Tony's xenophobic attitude. Little things, like how the Palestinians have an inferior culture and how their extermination would bring a smile to his lips. How "wetbacks" on his land would be shot. Little things like that.

Very true. However, that is hardly an insight.

What's insightful? His entire take on this senario. Hitchens is no puppet of the left or right; he is his own man... infuriatingly so. I agree with about half of what he writes, and the other half makes me want to throw my monitor out the window.
If nothing else, he always makes me reflect on my own attitudes and preconceptions.

Having a xenophobic attitude implies that I fear, that is not the case, its more like disgust. The arabs living in palestine do have an inferior culture, THEY TRAIN THIER KIDS TO BLOW THEM-SELVES UP, they are religious fanatics that kill in the name of god. If I was talking about a christian blowing up an abortion clinic you all would agree, but since it is the poor opressed arabs in palestine, you throw a hissie fit. You are just mad because I am not being politically correct, the truth often offends. :)
My comment about the wet-backs was made when another poster said mexicans should bulldoze my house. I said anyone that tried to destroy my house would be shot. Nice way to twist the truth Danish Deush-bag.

All Palestinians are disgusting, inferior and a threat, and I am fine with their extermination.
Change "Palestinians" to "Jews" and you would have gone far in Germany anno 1940.

Nice way to twist the truth Danish Deush-bag.While it is true that you qualified your statement, you made it clear that "wetback" is your term for Mexicans. You are a xenophobe, Toonie.

Not that he needs me to defend him...
But I have always found Danish Dynamite one of the most thoughtful, balanced, and fair posters on here. Even when you disagree with him, you know he has fully thought something out and is not just reacting to biases.
