Riz,
Got a link? Or at least list a source such as broadcast outlet of something?
Really, I think most of us would want to see the source. Otherwise, recent posts of yours cannot be distinguished from rumors.

Rik: no offence, but Fox? They got that Tariq Aziz thing right...of course they could be actively engaged in a dis-information campaign. Methinks pictures are what is necessary to believe this one...

True Doubt,
I'm sorry...but I did post the Aziz thread with a ? This report from Fox news is not being reported as sketchy or rumors...they're saying it's true...but as we know, all preliminary reports during war are going to be more than a little suspect...I'm just posting what's being reported as "breaking news"
Don't disparage the messenger!!

All our TV's are in the cafeteria and they are all on MSNBC.
They started out being on FOX when we moved into our new facility but were switched to MSNBC - too many complaints. :D
Don't make the Jedi Error, taking one early report and running with it.

Saddam is now waging a scorched earth policy against his own country.
Such a warm and fuzzy man.

It seems to me that sometimes you are prone to take one early report about something and believe it before there's much verification. The CommieFoam discussion comes to mind. ;)

The commie foam thing I was talking about was 100% correct. Absolutely no flaws in that information.

"This report that was given to you is a film from the American gangs and is misleading and prejudiced," Rasheed told Reuters in a statement from his Baghdad office.

Though, there is a distinct possibility that Iraqi state media is at least as accurate as Fox... after all, they both operate on the same journailstic principals.:p

The first Reuters report is iffy at best, and of course, the Iraqi, Kuwaiti, and Iranian sources all have their biases and their reasons to lie. I don't think there's any real way to tell yet one way or the other. I'll await more news stories.

Shanek,
I share your scepticism of Reuters, in as much they proclaim on their front page that we missed Saddam. Which may well be true, but the US is still stating that it is not known.
It does look like the well story is true, though it does seem like the evidence is still not well verified.

Please, Luke, where do you live? Everywhere around here, including the Marine Base had the price of gas go from $1.75 per gallon to $2.07 per gallon. The base is hanging at $1.98 per gallon. By the time I get home it won't surprise me in the least to see Gas at $2.50. San Diego had been as high as $2.40 already.

The price per barrel is not yet reflected at the pump. It's true that the price per barrel has come down several dollars in the last two weeks.

I hear ya! Funny how many of us Americans whine about the USA sticking its nose in other people's business, while at the same time these same individuals cry about the rising gas prices as they juice up their cars and SUV's. Can't have it both ways.

Can't have it both ways. Hi schplurg. I admit that I often chuckle when I hear some Americans shout "the sky is falling!" with regard to gas prices.
BTW, perhaps you can clear something up for me. What exactly is a SUV? I seem to recall someone saying it means "Surburban Vehicle". Is that correct? If so, what exactly is that?

An SUV is a "Sports utility vechile". It's a big honking car that gets incredibly low milage per gallon and is a massive waste of resources.

SUV stands for Sport Utility Vehicle (although sometimes I call it a Suburban Utility vehicle). Its a big vehicle, designed for at least some off-road action, driven primarily by people who will never take it off the main roads.
A Hummer is probably the 'ultimate' SUV.

There's one SUV ad that kills me. The one where the nice couple watching a deer in the forest in their "good" SUV have their calm ruined by a fat idiot in a "bad" SUV driving up loudly, scaring the deer away and saying "What are you looking at?"
The white professional upperclass yuppie couple in the correct SUV roll their eyes in disgust.
Cracks me up every time.

Me, I drive a Canyonero!
------------------------------------------
Can you name the truck with four wheel drive,
Smells like a steak, and seats thirty five?
Canyonero! Canyonero!
Well, it goes real slow with the hammer down
It's the country-fried truck endorsed by a clown
Canyonero! Canyonero!
Hey, hey!
Twelve yards long, two lanes wide,
Sixty five tons of American pride!
Canyonero! Canyonero!
Top of the line in utility sports,
Unexplained fires are a matter for the courts!
Canyonero! Canyonero!
She blinds everybody with her super high beams
She's a squirrel-squashin', deer-smackin' drivin' machine
Canyonero! Canyonero! Canyonero!
Whoa, Canyonero! Whoa!

No surprise that Hussein is burning the wells. ABC News is reporting the Marines moving into the area are entering wearing chemical suits. What's that tell you about the enemy?
Thanks, France.
