I hope its somthing good this time. Desert Shield was kinda cool. They they had a string of dopey names like "Infinite Justice" or "enduring Freedom" ......BLeckkkkkk. Who comes up with these things.

Well, "Freedom" is meant in the same euphemistic sense as "Liberation" I think.

It's silly, but at least it's not another "Desert" something. Desert Shield, Desert Storm, Desert Fox. At least "Iraqi Freedom" is a little more specific than "Desert Freedom".

Does Operation: Iraqi Freedom translate to Operation: Iraqi French?

This side of the pond its being called Operation TELIC. Nobody knows what 'TELIC' stands for but speculation amongst the army is 'Tell Everyone Leave Is Cancelled'

The BBC is already running a story titled "Analysis: UK assault on France (http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/world/middle_east/2842601.stm) "

Gets my attention every time I spot it
