Loud c-phone call leads to pregnant woman's arrest (http://www.cnn.com/2004/US/09/28/phone.arrest.ap/index.html)

What law was being broken that instigated the officer's need to lay his hands on this person?

From the title of your link, nothing. But when you actually read the article:

Deputy Chief Timothy Gronau said Monday that Officer George Saoutis followed police procedure after Aaron refused to stop cursing loudly during a cell phone conversation and became abusive and uncooperative

So, it depends on what 'abusive' and 'uncooperative' means. I've seen some pretty spectacular examples of that in my time. Two sides, all I'm saying.

What does the disorderly conduct statute in that jurisdiction say?

Why is this for me?

Aaron said the officer approached her as she walked to catch a bus, telling her to keep her voice down. She twice tried to break away, but he caught her arm, then placed her face down, handcuffed her, and charged her with disorderly conduct and resisting arrest.

Some facts are apparently missing, what did the woman need to break away from?

On a side note, "Resisting arrest" has got to be the most bogus charge.

I posted it to troll for you, dude :)

I knew it would get your goat!

But beyond that, is it illegal to curse or talk loudly in a public place (like at a bus stop)?!?

Rude, myopic, sure...grounds for a rough detainment? Nope.
