When the JREF challenge is mentioned to believers, no matter what the belief, it seems that a series of events almost always take place.

First, the believers say that their beliefs are not supernatural.

Second, they doubt the money is there at all.

Third, they attack Randi, the JREF and the challenge itself.

Am I missing some other steps here?

Anyway, here is a clear illustration of this forula. Perhaps we can classify this as the Coward Theory. I know, there is the rare occasion that a person will actually take the challenge, but those are exceptions to the theory.

Notice how the loudest supporters of Ki energy have disapeared.
Step four might be

Bury head in sand and ignore anyone who disagrees or questions beliefs.

Just kick 'em, they'll understand ?????

Molto bizarro. He claims to be able to diagnose medical problems through sensing "energy", a test the JREF has administered often, and which is admissable for the prize. You tell him he can get $1,000,000 for this talent. He replies "It would have to be absurdly unequivicable... You would essentailly have to move objects (not influnece their movement, but actually move them) through walls... "

Or diagnose medical problems, methinks.
