When the JREF challenge is mentioned to believers, no matter what the belief, it seems that a series of events almost always take place.
First, the believers say that their beliefs are not supernatural.
Second, they doubt the money is there at all.
Third, they attack Randi, the JREF and the challenge itself.
Am I missing some other steps here?
Anyway, here is a clear illustration of this forula. Perhaps we can classify this as the Coward Theory. I know, there is the rare occasion that a person will actually take the challenge, but those are exceptions to the theory.
