Just spotted this thread, Denise. I'm glad nobody's been vaulted over the cliff so far, even though no questions have been correctly answered.

I wanted an animated gif with a "looking into an issue" motif. I found the blinking eye telecsope at animation factory, and was particularly happy to find it was free.

Is "Hoyt" of similar linguistic origin to "Voight", "Voit", and "Foyt"? If so, whence hail the Hoyts? Are there other "Oyt"s?
