If you're asking a question directly to the JREF, why not send Kramer a direct email?

How do you plan to erase souls? How would it be possible for mere mortals such as us to identify whether you have erased a soul or not in order for you to win the million?

I'd offer my soul as part of the test, but I traded it for a 22 ounce bottle of soda.

Where did you get a 22oz bottle of soda?

And what does it mean to destroy a soul?

I'm very sceptical about this soul buisness.

I'm still waiting for devil to show up. Two months ago i offered in a loud clear voice my soul to Satan and all i asked for was world wide peace and happiness and immortality for every other human being, alive or dead, for as long as each individual wants those two feats and access to heaven for everyone wanting to go there.
Of course there would have still to be a discussion on the details(e.g. Whats happiness), but i didn't even get a smell of sulphur.

Help me, what did i do wrong, is my soul worth nothing?

You're a sceptic. SATAN ALREADY HAS YOUR SOUL.

But sometimes in weak moments i do something, that might fit into the definition of praying, so i cannot yet be totally in Satans hands, so my soul should still be worth something.

And further the most prominent example from literature, Dr. Faust, had already given up any believe in god and so on, before Satan came to make the deal, apparently even sceptic souls should be worth something to Satan.

Where are you Satan, the offer still stands, peace, happiness and immortality for all others and you get my soul and i go to hell, what do you say?

Bah, Satan won't give you that- it's too happy and fuzzy. Try trading it for Evil Magical Powers, or a candy bar.

I got a Hershey's with almonds. :D

I hope you at least held out for one of the really big bars. I'm still waiting on the lawyers to go over our contract for my new powerbook with lifetime upgrades.

Carn Does wishing really hard that you make a shot in pool count as praying?

I never thought of it before, but I think it might.

I never realized I prayed before

As far as i know:

Wishing alone i think is not enough, but i think as soon as you express a wish in words inside your head, e.g. "please, let it turn out well", you are already praying and according to some catholic christians i knew, that might be enough for god to do something about it, though it depends on lots of other unmeasurable parameters as well.

Even if you pray to some god catholics believe does not exist their god might still answer, in case the wish/intent behind the prayer is good and worthy in god's eye(=matches catholic dogma) and maybe other things, that ensure no test can ever be devised for it.

Carn, I have a shiny penny, worth 1 cent.

I will sell it to you for a mere 1 million dollars.

Here ends the analogy.

That's not the worst part of it. According to their good book, you also only have to think about sinning, to have sinned.

Is that tinfoil beanie which protects from the CIA, effective against nosy gods? :D

I'm not certain i understand this, though i think you are saying, that my offer is a bad one to Satan, he knows it and therefore does not show up.

Problem is, just yesterday, i changed my offer, that i'm willing to discuss a deal no matter, what his initial offer is, as i cannot guess the value of my soul.

Still, he did not show up. Where are you my soul is waiting for you?

Erasing deities is the easy part, it would be more useful if you could erase all memory of them and belief in them.

Excellent. :D

But if you're still willing to sell, have you considered EBay? Apparently you can get some good prices for all sorts of stuff on that site.

But FIRST you must prove that a soul ever existed before you can prove that one could be erased.

Good idea!

Question can you also steal souls?

If so, and i manage to sucesfully sell souls via ebay, we could make money that way.

And i do not think it would be illegal, as courts do not accept the existance of a soul, so nobody can sue us that we stole his soul.

The soul never dies. It s owner however is responsible for his/her destiny.

Saddly, a soul can be stolen. Lost, a man sometimes has to fight. The war for the soul is eternal.

Now I am impressed. Thank you for freeing my mind of such useless garbage. Do you perform exorcisms as well? Sometimes my bed shakes inexplicably. The last time was when I was staying in a hotel in the Mojave Desert on Oct. 16, 1999. The previous time was when I was in Palo Alto on Oct 17, 1989.

Interesting, I just for the first time realized that these two dates are almost exactly a decade apart! These are the dates of the Hector Mine quake and the Loma Prieta (world series) quake, and I really was quite near the epicenter of both, even though I live on the east coast.

I look forward to Oct 15, 2009. If 7.0 or greater quake occurs wherever I am, I am applying for the challenge.

People once believed that when someone dies that a crow carrys the soul to the land of the dead, but sometimes something so

bad happens that a terrible saddness is carried with it and the soul cannot rest then sometimes, just sometimes the crow can

bring that soul back to put the wrong things right. ~The Crow 'the movie'

The AllPowerful Splat will never be erased.

you see if you can remember a soul it always exists.

erasing a soul would mean that you would not remember it at all. that the eternity of its existance would have never had known it. even a powerful soul eraserhead, would not even remember doing this deed of evil. as a soul erased eternal would have never existed to be erased.

See, Question, the problem with admitting you're a troll (http://www.randi.org/vbulletin/showthread.php?s=&postid=1870683719#post1870683719) is that no one will ever believe you again.

You have made this bed. Hope you find it comfy...
