View Full Version : Why So Many Restricted?

Question

There are six (6) [6] {SIX!!!} <siiiix> SiXiX 6!!!!!!111111 forums that the general public is not allowed to read from or post to. Why so much secrecy? This only PROVES that the JREF is out to cover up any activity on this forum that could show the paranormal to be real. Case closed; the victory in this contention goes to me.

Coordination Area - Where mods discuss board issues.
Log - Where records of mod actions are kept.
Standard Operating Procedures - Which contains directions on how to perform various forum related tasks, like forum application processing.
Forum Change Log - Where a record of the modifications to the forum itself are held
Deep Storage - Where threads are moved to when removed from public view.
(To be fair, these are all contained within the "Moderators" heading, which could be confused as a sixth forum even though it contains no threads.)

Boards 1, 2, and 5 potentially contain information that should not be made public. 1 contains the private discussions of the mods. Some of the older records in 2 contains member's email addresses (the email addresses were removed from the post reports a couple of months ago). It would make little sense to make 5 publically visible since it's purpose is to store things out of the public view. 5 is essentially our alternative to deleting threads.

The funny part is that you missed the 17 other forums we have that contain absolute proof of the existence of aliens, ESP, angels, and the Smurfs.* It's really fascinating stuff, but don't tell anyone I told ya. ;)

* If anyone takes this as a serious statement, I'd like to talk to you about an investment opportunity in Florida's misnamed "swamp" land.

A public JREF pronouncement (edited for clarity).

Context? I don't need no stinkin' context!

There really are 6, but the 6th is invisible, which proves it is being covered up. ;)

which proves it is being covered up. ;) Whoever it is, they must have higher than admin level access! I didn't even know that was possible, but I can't see the 6th board... :jaw:

It's all spelled out in exacting detail in Sooper Sektrit Rule X.

Anyone can see the Super Sekrit "Black Ops" Forum (Forum ID 666) with the right preparations.

You will need two chickens, one goat, a skull, a black hooded robe and a virgin. Approach <strike>The Supreme Hierophant</strike> Darat with a funny handshake and a knowing wink. He'll tell you what to do next.

There a small matter of a contract to be signed, but it's just a formality, and it doesn't take THAT much blood. Besides, who needs a soul anyway?

Are you sure it contains no threads? After all, it is possible to post to such places as you currently have it set up. See:

http://forums.randi.org/showthread.php?threadid=47391

So there could, in fact, be threads there. Watch out; the other moderators could be plotting something behind your back.

Interesting. I'll amend my statement by saying that "Moderators" is set up as a "category" rather than "forum". That one can manually enter a category's forumid when posting a new thread is probably just a bug in the system.
