On August 3rd 2004 I received a Challenge application from New Zealand with the following scribbling all over it:

CLOSE YOUR EYES AND YOU WILL SEE YOURSELF! TELEPATHY! SPEAKING TO PERSON/PEOPLE WITH MY MIND SEEING! FOR A BLIND PERSON/PEOPLE WITH MY EYES HEARING! FOR DEAF PEOPLE/PERSONS WITH MY EARS THROUGH SPEAK TO PERSON/PEOPLE ON TV!!!
Can testing be done in Auckland as I have a drug conviction.

2. Under what CIRCUMSTANCES/CONDITIONS?
3. With what degree of ACCURACY (what would constitute a successful demonstration)?
Once we have this data from you, along with your notarized application, we can proceed with the protocol negotiations.

I soon received a notarized application, and the following letter:
Dear Mr. Kramer,
As I have stated in my recent correspondence I have a drug conviction and will be denied a US entry visa so would it be possible for Randi to visit New Zealand to really meet a bona fide psychic that is ME!!! Like Randi said on the Discovery Channel "There's no one banging down my door for the Million Dollars, is there?" I would habve if it weren't for my drug conviction so long long ago when I saw that documentary in 1997 or 98 so I hope this letter inspiers use to come to New Zealand to find out that I AM REAL AND NOT A FRAUD I AM THE ONLY ONE ON THIS PLANET WQITH THIS ABILITIE SO FAR PLEASE PROVE ME WRONG!!!
Please Mr. Kramer please pass this letter on to Randi the Fraud Finder.

Once again I wrote to Mr. Davis, reminding him that the only thing JREF wishes to see is a demonstration of his claim, and that no other data or anecdotal references would matter in the least.
Once again, also, I repeated my request for additional data regarding how he proposed to offer a demonstration of his claim.
I shortly thereafter received this:
Telepathy = Spoken speech with my mind projected to other person/people mind.
Blind person/people can see through my mind.
Deaf person/people can hear through my mind.
Image of my thoughts projected from my mkind and seen by people.
Speak to person/people on TV telepathically with my mind.

I am in receipt of your reply of August 12, but sadly, we have come no closer to establishing a test protocol than we were when we first received your application. I still have no idea HOW you propose to demonstrate the validity of your claim.
Please keep in mind that only a demonstration of your claim will qualify you for the million dollar prize. It is up to each applicant to propose a test protocol. You have not done so.
Please tell us how you propose to demonstrate your claim. Without this data, we can proceed no further. I look forward to your speedy reply.
