Prediction if Arafat dies:
Whomever his eventual successor is, within 48 hours Z-N will post here (with references of course) why that person is totally unsuitable for israel to negotiate with.
You heard it here first! ;) ;) :p

If he dies does that improve or worsen the mideast situation?
Ive heard that Arafats the devil, but then Ive heard that he actually stablizes the conflict. With out him I'd be worse.

You heard it here first! ;) ;) :p Well if Arafat's replacement continues to allow islamic fundamentalism to run Palestinian internal and foreign policy then yes, I would find that unacceptable. On the other hand if Arafat's replacement stops islamic fundamentalism in Gaza and the West Bank I would support him wholeheartedly.
See Hutch my beef with Arafat is the same beef 98% of the world's leaders have with Arafat. That is, he never made the transition from terrorist - which he was for 30 years - to responsible statesman.
