View Full Version : Fake Photo Challenge

Operaider

This is an idea that that guy who juggles came up with in the Million Dollar Challenge section. I thought it might be fun so I'm starting a thread here.

Fake Photo Challenge

The idea is to see who can come up with the best original photo of a paranormal happening. It can be of anything you want. UFO, ghost, Bigfoot, psychic ability. The only rules are it must be an original photo, and it must be of something paranormal.

Post your pics on this thread, then after we get enough of them we'll start a new thread with a poll to vote for the best.

So get your grainy cameras

Fire up your photoshop

oh, and if you are somehow able to take a picture of a "real" paranormal event. :D
I guess you can submit that too

There's a fantastic site, Worth1000.com, that regularly runs competitions on faked photos. Some are brilliant.... (http://www.worth1000.com/emailthis.asp?entry=55449)

Here's some more... (http://www.worth1000.com/cache/gallery/contestcache.asp?contest_id=169)

I think that's where That guy who Juggles got the idea.

I thought it might be fun to see some of the photos that the Jref members could come up with.

The real fun will come a couple months from now when we find the photos on woo woo websites posted as proof of the paranormal

Are we allowed to use photoshop, or do we have to figure out natural ways to set up paranormal looking shots?

I figure the people who create the fake paranormal photos get to use any means possible so we should be allowed to also.

Anything goes, It just has to be an original picture. No stealing stuff off of other sites.

I was wondering, does anyone have any suggestions on where we can find help on how to properly fake these pics? I remember an article in skeptical inquirer a few months back that showed several techniques on faking UFO photos. Anyone have any web sites that can assist on techniques?

Here's my first 'discovery'.

Scientists in Antarctica came across a remarkable discovery, but before they could take more than a couple of photos the ice fractured and the artifact was lost to the ocean as the spring thaw loosened millions of tonnes of ice on the edge of the ice sheet.

I'd much rather have it posted here first, so they can't claim we took it from them.

I'm pretty sure there's something in Nostradamus about that:

The bookcase stands askew
Despair fills the atmosphere
Missing fourteen of part H
And have seventeen too many of part G

Or something like that.

(I'm really not good at this, but I always thought it would be fun to see a fake-Nostradamus contest. Though not as fun as this thread.).

Even sadder is the tiny amount of effort and complete lack of technology (except for digital camera) that was involved. I can't believe the low standards most people have for their belief systems. It would be so easy to sucker people, ... urrr, must go fight temptation to start new "business"...

If you use the IMG tag, you're posting a link to an image which is hosted elsewhere on the web. There's no size limit (or at least it's higher) with the latter method since this doesn't hit the JREF bandwidth.

Cheer up, your picture made my sisters eyes water (Thats a sign of fear in our family).

And, nice orbs guys. By the way, it would be irresponsible to throw perfectly good clothes ( or blankets with frilly edges, or used dryer sheets, or plastic wrap, or toilet paper) in the air and try to photograph them. They might get damaged, and somone could get hurt.
