i have linked this thread before under topic Why Uri? but having popped back there(Magic Cafe)I now read this post.Disheartening to read such things on a community borard that isnt woo.

I hate to break it to you guys but..James Randi and Uri Geller are partners and have been for years.

It should be obvious since one never completely "beats" the other, leaving the door open to more tv appearances and court cases.

I've come up against some harsh criticism for revealing this fact before in magic circles. Please, I don't care to argue the point. I know this to be a fact from firsthand experience watching them work together. Usually when you see Geller doing his work under test conditions, James Randi is right there coaching his every expression and move. This is no secret to the production crew.

This behavior would be fine if it were just for entertainment purposes, but when they prostitute the public court system to promote their agenda.. that's not only immoral but illegal.

It seems they can't get a gig nowadays anyway. Thank goodness. I find the whole thing a bit distressing since it preys on people's beliefs and fears about the supernatural. All to make a buck. Boo.

PS. Regarding the challenge being bogus.. There's tons of hard evidence that it is. Check google for Randi's actual contract. Not the one he shows everyone in the press, but the one that you receive if he actually returns your call. Talk about fraudulent claims? This takes the cake.

Yes, I think it is. It's an open accusation of fraud.

If it bothers you, you can contact the magiccafe forum admin and see if they will do something about it.

He gets fairly trashed further on the thread for this stupidity and, like all good trolls worldwide, never returns to debate.

Small child runs into room, shouts gibberish, runs away again before he can hear anyone disagree.

I think there are levels at which claims are so stupid they don't really count as libel (Like the Larry Flint case where he was acused of libel, but it was thrown out as no-one could ever seriously have believed the claims).

But despite being equally stupid) this is the sort of libel lots of people (who can't be bothered to read or think) would accept instantly.
