The Greatest Myths, Hoaxes & Mysteries in Astronomy and Space Science

according to Robert Roy Britt

some of his selections are worth arguing about.

P.S. The link works perfectly. Ignore the next couple posts, they haven't got a clue. :p

I will further investigate the meaning of this profound statement. It's obviously a conspiracy to prevent us from learning the truth.

Yeah, you have to navigate to get there. Here's an excerpt:

Space Mysteries
Life
Sex
Other Universes
Dark Matter
Dark Energy
Planet X
Hypernovae
Meteor Sounds
South Star

Space Myths
Edge of the Universe
Nemesis (Sun Companion)
Sun gets fatter when it sets

and much, much more...

Hello,
On the Nemisis thing, the only reason that it might be silly is that there is a more available cause for the periodic extiction cycle. Ther Nemisis hypothesis says that there is a sub steller or brown dwarf object that orbits the sun and on a cyclical basis send Oort objests into the inner solar system.
I seem to recall that in Dinosaur Heresies that Bob Bakker mentions that the cyclical extinction cycle could be explained by our solar system passing through the denser parts of the galactic arms.
I think that might make more sense.

That article by Rob Britt was picked up from space.com. You can find it there. A few of the articles linked may be written by someone whose name is familair to you. :-)
