"Psychics" in America Online Chatrooms

Ok..So there are tons and tons of "Psychic" chatrooms scattered all over America Online.Here is the chat transcript of just one that I went into...Remember that I copied and pasted right when this one reading was taking place,and I deleted all of the other people's messages so you can only see the "psychic" and the person being read.So if there is any other people in the two way convo my apoligy.


This following person Angel actually knows mekissa because throught the chat she was accusing me of being someone named "devin" and this "psychic" mekissa was agreeing with her.Also this "devin" is a nextdoor neighbor of this Angelnhvn person.So apparantly both of them know this "devin" person whoever it is.(probably another skeptic) So these two have a past..Which could explain these good guesses,Most likely this angel person is used to get more members into the room thinking that mekissa is a psychic by telling her nearly everything she says is right.This is a tactic used by many online psychics.

So what happens here is that Angelnhvn713, the client, tells Mekissa3, the Psychic, that her sister works hard and the aledged Psychic says "She need a break". Amazing!

Oh well, this thread just confirms my opinion about so called psychics. They are pure frauds, unless they do it for entertainment, but then they are called Mentalists or stage magicians.

This is a great way to study some of the techniques of these "psychics". It's hard to know just who is working for the psychic and who is not...Most of the time when the psychic is not even right about what they guess,then it's some normal person.

And when they guess nearly everything right(Which only happens during the first reading.So as to get people to believe that the psychic is real..Like in this case.) Then they person is working for the psychic...I guess a word could be a "prepper" or someone who prepares the stage for real readings.


In most cases these people will(after a few hours of reading) Start asking for payment for...."Powerful readings".

My point is that chatting with internet self-proclaimed psychics, while fun, doesn't really address testing psychics in a scientific manner.

For example, SkepticReport has an informal article here (http://www.skepticreport.com/astrology/astrologyreadings.htm) where the writer did the same thing.

lol...I was kicked off of America Online because I was claiming Psychics are fake in the Psychic rooms.lol,I won't be going back in those rooms anymore.


But Yes,Some of them are willing to give free readings. All of the readings that I got were free.Just go into some of the rooms that say they are giving readings and ask for a reading.There are plenty of them,I already said how to get to them in my first post.

Thanks. I tried some yahoo chat rooms but everyone was more interested in talking about christmas then giving any readings. There was lots of people asking for readings and some sounded really desperate. begging for help. Pretty sad actually.

Yea...I may try to get some readings from the yahoo psychics,But I won't go back into the america online rooms anymore...But you sure can if you have AOL.

There are just so many more on AOL than there are on YAHOO.
You would have to stay in the room for a while and try to private message each one and ask for a reading to get one prabably,Otherwise they would just ignore you.They can't kick you out on yahoo though.:D

Doughnuts. Subject says no, then says had them last weekend at work. (My boss always brings in doughnuts on the weekends.)

Sister is not well. No indication that sister is in any way not well. Prompting from psychic confirms sister "works hard".

Close to cousin. Psychic says "were close" then concludes "still close". Subject says "were close" and "haven't seen her in a long time". (Obviously guessing that someone is "close" to a first cousin is not a great leap of psychic ability. Of course missing on "still close" as the conclusion is a clear miss.)
