I'm sure there are other sites like this one (http://www.cheapovegas.com/vegas_casino_full.php?hotel_id=1046) out there, but I found it rather humorous, detailed, and at least for the Vegas hotels I've stayed at in the past. pretty straight-on.
Just for anybody's curiousity, especially newbies to Vegas. This will be my fifith visit (Imperial Palace, Luxor, Excalibur, Circus Circus before this)

How's the Pool? Pretty average. If you like swimming, then the water will feel like any other place's. But, there are few quality ogling and gawking opportunities. The JREF crowd (most notably the skepchicks) should be able to bring a change in that respect. I hope :D

Oh POol Boy and I are in the cheapo rooms....
Still, it should be nice.
I'd like to see Wayne Newton because he IS Vegas, but with the holidays I'm beyond broke. You know, you atheists have it easy not having to buy Xmas gifts and stuff. :D

Don't forget the free wireless Internet that they just installed. Supposedly, it covers *most* of the hotel.

Does anyone know if the Stardust has an airport shuttle? I can't find anything about it on the website. So I assume no.
Last year, I took some sort of general purpose shuttle that goes to all the hotels. It really cheap - like $4 - but I was 2nd to last on the route, so it was about a 45 minute ride. I discovered when I was leaving, that a cab ride was only $10, and I would have been there in 5 minutes. And not had to ride around with a bunch of loser tourists.

CS,
Yes, the shuttle that was in operation last year serviced a lot of hotels. In fact, I specifically remember that they asked people which hotel they wanted to go to. So, I'm guessing hat they probably service the Stardust as well.
But, I plan on calling the hotel in the morning to check on my registration and ask some other questions. I'll remember to ask about this and then post.

I'd be surprised if anyone is at the pool in a bathing suit.
I just checked the weather forcast and it looks like the temperature will range from mid 30's to mid 50's.

Of course, halfway during my stay, something happened with the internet connection, and everyone was surfing on the unprotected wireless networks in the surrounding area until the hostel's connection came back up.

By "cheapo" rooms, do you mean the old tower? If so, those are the rooms with history, baby! First time I went to Vegas I insisted in staying in those rooms because of the movie Casino. At that time, the "new" tower rooms were the same price or cheaper, so reception thought I was weird. SO WHAT ELSE IS NEW.

San Francisco is the most wirelessly connected city in the USA. Yet another reason to go live there.

Okay, so I checked with the hotel.
They don't have an airport shuttle specifically for their hotel. But, you can take any of the public shuttles that go to the strip hotels. The cost is about $4.75. They run from 4 am until 2 am.
The wireless conectivity is going to cost about $15.99/day.
That's it for now.

Oh my.
I had read online when they installed it how cheap it was for them to do, and stupidly assumed it was free as there was no mention of price.
$15.99, if you'll pardon the expression, is a GODDAMNED RIP OFF.
I just called the business center and they said for $20, you can get a "1 hour" ticket for plugging your laptop into their T1 line. The idea is that you download/upload your e-mail a couple of times a day and that's it.
I think I'm going to get my cell phone modem to work. Slow, but a hell of a lot cheaper.
Again, I apologize for misleading people.
