Sounds more like Jesse Jackson’s never ending need for attention and publicity.

"Perhaps there could be the Olympic Truce, where at least both sides agree to stop the shooting to allow food and medicine to get in and water can be turned back on," Jackson said.
Yeah sure, let's fortify the enemy (when they steal it all from the civilians). Same ol' crap from Mr. Dial-a-Protest. Making suggestions that are totally impossible and then claiming he tried to do the right thing. "The evil Republicans were against me all the way, but I tried, my fellow Americans, I tried!"

I think whoever shot Martin Luther King that day missed the target.

P.S. That's a scary photo

This may sound severe, but honestly....what's wrong with Jesse Jackson's face? Was he in an accident? Does he have some sort of strange genetic problem? He looks almost Down's Syndrome-like. Or is he just really ugly?

Jesse Jackson is an empty suit. A poseur trying to fill the shoes of a man who's shoes he was never even fit to shine. A communist shill who can't keep his crank in his pants.

What a mad, mad world this is!

Hey! Who would ever have thought! Why, why, there must be some political hay to be eaten here.

Imagine that.

Forest Gump's mother always said "Pretty is as pretty does." I think The Rev needs to do more pretty things instead of trying to line his own pockets and the pockets of his friends and family. He almost makes Hanoi Jane look ok.

I don't know, but that grin he has on his face is really starting to creep me out!

Well, let's take as a given that Schplurg's comment was not necessarily worded in good taste. However, I wonder what would have been the result if J.E.Ray had shot Jackson instead?

Would the civil rights movement have stalled, because the MLK assasination moved public opinion towards anti-discrimination legislation? If MLK was alive it might have taken longer to change public opinion.

Would MLK have turned into the hypocritical, blackmailing, church-less minister and professional non-elected politician that Jackson became?

Jackson's character is reprehensible.

Given the persona of Jackson versus MLK (unless, of course, we've deified MLK as we seem to do all martyrs) , I don't necessarily think it is inappropriate to consider the relative worth of the two gentlemen.

Jackson is an interesting fellow. He somehow manages to 'shakedown' a company or organization for his own benefit.
Recall that he was in the running for President? The DNC bought him off and Jackson was rewarded by Clinton and named Ambassador Without Portfolio in Clinton's administration.
Al Sharpton was quoted months ago as using Jackson's experience to foster his own candidacy for the presidency. Sharpton knows how the game is played because of Jackson's success.

Oh gee did I forget the little smiley face? I'm sure you've heard much worse. I'll admit that's a harsh statement, and that I don't mean what I said literally (well maybe a little), but the guy is one of the lowest creatures in the public spotlight that I can think of. I think he hurts his "cause" much more than he helps it. He IS scum.

BTW, I don't recall directly calling anyone on this board a name like "scum" before. You could have left out the last line and made your point. But, as in my original post, our emotions can get the best of us sometimes.

As a "new guy" here, I feel I don't have the right to get too personal with anyone yet, especially in a negative way (and there a few I would LOVE to attack in such a way, but no one in this thread) and I'm trying to show respect to everyone, even those who are frequent targets of everyone else. That is why I am being polite now in my response. But if I get no respect, I will show none in return.

So gimme a break. I am not scum.

It reminds me of those old Zombie B-movies from the 60’s!

Using a great tragedy to make your point is inappropriate. Suggesting that Jesse Jackson be assassinated is unfathomable even taken the depths of your lothing for the man.
You may not really feel that way but many may take the suggestion as justification for doing it. While calling someone scum is not comparable to calling for someone's assassination, I will accept your word that you are not scum and apologize if you apologize for suggesting his death.

Ok, I apologize if I offended you or anyone else, and I accept yours.

I don't think Jackson should be assassinated. Just choosing one man over the other since someone did die that day. I guess I chose a tasteless way to do that, and I did look at that statement for sometime deciding whether I should post it or not.
I must say that I do feel somewhat accepted now that someone here called me a name ;)

With that little disclaimer, I will again say, I am sincerely sorry.

BTW I enjoyed your "farting" thread in Banter :)

PS BTW: What the heck is your website all about! :) Checked it out last night and laughed my @ss off, while at the same time asking myself "what the heck is this?" Is that all you? Looks like a lot of work went into it. That is TOOOO funny!

Do you mean someone might kill him because of my comment? I'm certainly not responsible for that!

They wouldn't kill because of your comment, but some would take it as support for what they would do. Words have power.

How about we ignore that, pretend you didn't want to just raise some sand, and let the thread get back to the topic or whatever?
