Looks like other threads are handling the evening activities, so let me state my (currently) planned schedule for 11-12 January and meeting points so that I (and others who want to contribute to this thread) have some time and place rendevous points.
Tuesday, 11 Jan 05--I arrive at LAS about 1 pm, by the time I get my bags, rental car, get a bite to eat, and check-in it will be about 2:30 pm, so I'll probably just go up to my room, then maybe browse the casino and risk a few dollars at Blackjack.
Between 6:30-7:00 PM I will be by the MAIN REGISTRATION DESK for anybody else who has arrived early and wants to join me for dinner (I will have a minivan for transport). Location and style can be decided upon by any and all who join me (but it must have beef or chicken on the menu in a recognizable form).
After-dinner activities can be at the discrection of the group, but I have some morning duties on the 12th and am not the wild youth I once was, so not tooo late. And I don't drink much (2 beer limit), so being the designated driver is not a problem.
Wednesday, 12 Jan 05--I will be at the front of the Breakfast Buffet at 7:15-7:30 and breakfast at 0730-0815. I then will spend most of the morning at the airport picking up three JREF'ers who are coming in. Should be back by 11:00, if the flights are on time.
At 12:00, I will again be by the MAIN REGISTRATION DESK for anybody who wants to do something that afternoon that requires transportation. Open to suggestions, be it Hoover Dam or Red Rocks or something else, I'm open to suggestions. Return whenever we get back, but in time for the Peppermill party.
Leave at 10:15PM to pickup another JREF'er, if the Peppermill party is still underway at midnight I'll bring the person over (she'll definitely want to join in).
Thursday, 13 Jan 05--Well, I think I start working as a volunteer that day, so we'll see. Hopefully by then I will have met enough folks (and not alienated any) that any planned activities will hopefully remember me.
Just so you know, I tend to be the type that shows up early and acts on-time and doesn't mind doing things on my own (but really really really would like to do as much activities with people here as possible), so don't bee-atch later to me that I wasn't there because you were 10 minutes late--You have been warned!!
;) :p
