What could persuade someone to do such a thing? I seem to recall there were also incidents of people acting in this way in the days following 9-11. Why would anyone go out of his way to hurt -- in the cruellest way possible -- an unknown family from the other side of the country? This is aside from the stupidity of the deed -- he was almost certain to get caught.
