Herewith Victor Zammit's recommendation for improving the "psi" abilities of children in school...just like they do in China, apparently.
I suggest that as a standard procedure ALL primary school children in the United States, U.K., Canada, Australia and in other English speaking countries be given a psychic test as an adjunct to their other tests. It would be important to have highly qualified testers for any accurate psychic testing. www.victorzammit.com

Holy crap! That is one effed up web site! Lots of appeals to authority, if celebrities are seen as authority... :p

Check this out:

This guy really really really really really hates James "Zwinge" Randi. He also seems to think you can prove a negative.
This is interesting too:
"THE closed minded skeptic clock now:
1379 days !
The Miami materialist J Zwinge R Clock began in April 2001!! Since then this materialist, closed minded skeptic has refused to rebut my objective evidence for the afterlife. My evidence is EXPRESSLY STATED - 23 areas of evidence for the existence of the afterlife. "
Jeez...I don't know what to say.

I don't like pasting twice in a row but this website is great:
David Ash and Peter Hewitt's book, The Vortex, (1994) gives, among other things, one scientific explanation for materialization. They argue that Einstein's formula E=mc2 — energy equals mass to the speed of light, shows that mass 'm' is equivalent to energy 'E'.
This explains how materialization and dematerialization operate by matter being transformed into energy. When people try to argue that this equation is all theory but cannot be demonstrated they should be reminded that less than one ounce of matter was transformed into energy to destroy Hiroshima.
The vortex is the actual swirling of the atoms and molecules. Ash and Hewitt argue from Einstein's equation that since matter and light share a common movement, the actual speed of the swirling of the vortex, must be the speed of light. They claim that this is the only possible sense to be made of Einstein's equation and that it is because of the vortex swirling at the speed of light that you can read this page or see another person the trees and the sky and see everything else with physical eyes.
Ash and Hewitt ask: why should the speed of the movement of the vortex be limited to the speed of light? They argue that once the movement of the vortex exceeds the speed of light, then a person or thing will enter into superenergy, a new dimension, a new world. But in that new dimension the person or thing will be as solid as you and me in this dimension. The only thing is that the vortices will be swirling at a speed faster than on the earth plane.
I love this guy. Why can't all woo-woo's all be so entertaining.
Oh yea before I forget, the movement of the "vortex" is limited to the speed of light because it would require an infinite amount of energy to accelerate the "spirit aroms" beyond the speed of light.
Is this the stuff he wants Randi to disprove?

Victor Zammit has been discussed here many times before. He's a never-ending source of amusement.
His pomposity makes him so funny - "A Lawyer Presents the Case for the Afterlife" makes me laugh every time.
We had fun making up similar daft appeals to authority a while back -
"A plumber makes the case for remote viewing"
"Creationism - a sales executive speaks"
and so on ...

I was thinking of going to law school soon. Therefore, my opinion is more important than yours.

I'm of the opinion that it would be a good thing to test all schoolkids for psychic abilities. Of course the tests would have to be properly designed with all the normal controls.
But just imagine the results - "well, we've tested several million children a year for ten years running now, and still haven't found a single psychic..." Might actually begin to open a few eyes. And hey, you never know, we might actually find a real psychic and change the face of science.
I'm not saying it would be worth the huge time and expense that it would involve but, at least in principle, there's nothing wrong with testing people for psychic powers.

Psi tests?
Look out Alfred Bester!
