I admit when thinks are proven....the facts are facts.......

sceptics do great work......because the truth is the truth......

it's stupid by force to try to believe in something that's not have any proven facts......

what i am tryin' to tell myself......dunno even myself......

Probably not. It think the best most of them can do is to comfort, guide, inspire, advise, and counsel.

I agree, Pillory. I think it truly is a yes or no issue. Of course, I know plenty of persons who are "mild" believers. I suspect that many of those persons lack enough introspection. Deep down, the rest probably don't really accept the myth. Many of them go to church and its social functions out of a need for a sense of community, and a good church can provide that.

I'm always ready to believe. I would like that light to be a UFO and that voice to be God. Unfortunately I'm neither blind nor deaf, and so I recognize the light as an airplane and the voice as my brother who's asking why the f*** am I looking at that airplane for so long.

Hehe. Are you referring to the God who sits up there with the ability to ease misery -- and doesn't do it, all the while implying we are morally bad because we don't, either?

I think we're emulating him rather well.

In fact, we have a system morally superior to "God's". Brutal, greedy capitalism has helped more people out of dirt-floor poverty than all the charitable organizations in the enire world, in the entire history, put together.

Sorry, Charlie! I mean, "God".

When the human spirit has evolved to the cultural point of not needing God, religion dissappears of its own accord. See modern Europe.

And dude, about your last sentence... lay off the LSD. Your posts will 100x more coherent, I gaurantee ;-).
