So, a moon bigger then Mercury, covered in OCEANS (potentially) of natural gas? What is to stop an intrepid energy conglomerate form devising a way to go and extract it?

(yes, I know it would cost a ton to get shipments to and from. I am thinking long-term in the future.)

I mean, isn't this every colonists' dream? A resource-rich locale, RIGHT IN OUR OWN SOLAR SYSTEM?

Because there is no conceivable way to do so that would not be HUGE net loss of energy to do so (as well as an even bigger net loss in monies).

Well, there's that, and of course there's the greenhouse emissions that come with methane. Al Gore would never allow it.
