Over the last couple of weeks thereve been a couple of church fires. Both of them were insured.

Isnt that a lack of faith to insure a church. Wouldnt you believe that God would protect the building?

I remeber Ned Flanders not having insurance cause he considered it a "form of gambling"

Of course churches need to be insured. In case an evil athiest defies God and burns it down!

Yahzi?

Where is he anyway.. This reminds me of the " Why do Christians wear seatbelts ? " thread..

I believe the Christian response to this, falls under the all encompasing copout of:

" God helps those who help themselves .."

What they fail to comprehend, is that a world in which " God helps those who help themselves .."
is indistinguishable from a world in which the people just "... Help themselves .."

Fires are God's way of saying "Build a new church."

Insurance is what He provided to pay for it.

That’s nothing
In my town, Xenia Ohio our last tornado took out 4 churches including one that I was married in. When they rebuilt it, my wife and I went to the first service, one speaker evoked Gods will in the tornado and another blamed Satan, me I snickered, my wife elbowed me.
