And then there's these people (http://www.healingspiral.com). I still can't figure out exactly what it is that they don't really claim to be able to do, but anyone who can describe themselves as "A Non-Traditional School of Ancient Learning" has won a little place in my heart.

Come on, Doc. It's right there on the Meet the Teacher (http://www.healingspiral.com/adrien.html) page. She possesses "magnificient healing energies of great white light reflecting the effervescent sparkling colours of a sun filled prism." Could she be any clearer about this?

Dr. A:

A couple of questions. Are you an actual doctor (M.D. or Ph.D.)? Also, have you ever considered writing a book? If not, you really ought to think about it. Your writing and research is always top notch.

Hi, jlam. I have a PhD. (My only medical qualification is that I can spell "metacarpophalangeal" best out of three.) Yes, I'm partway through writing a book --- 55,000 words so far. And thanks for the praise, my ego needs feeding regularly.

Beautifully written.

I am curious as to whether these quacks' disclaimers are actually valid as they are contradicted by what they say elsewhere on their websites. In other words they can't make claims and deny them in the same breath. They're trying to have their cake and eat it. I don't suppose the FDA will do anything about it though.
