The view/text size setting only very infrequently works. I can alter the text size in all other browsers ok, why not explorer??

And why doesn't it have tabbed browsing??

Have you tried Ctrl-scroll wheel?

If Ctrl-Scroll doesn't work, very little will, at least without going to extreme lengths. Considerate designers use relative text sizes, which will allow you to alter the size. Those who think of themselves as 'designers' will consider that the size they've decided on is the size you'll see, because they consider their aesthetic sense to be all there is.

You can, of course, lower your resolution. And you can tell your browser to ignore specified sizes (but this will affect all text on all pages). Or you can specify your own stylesheet to override the designers (but this will have much the same effect).

Cheers,
Rat.

The reason why your View -> Text Size option doesnt work all the time is because your webpage designers use absolute font sizes rather than relative font sizes.

The solution: Go to Tools -> Internet Options, click the Accessibility button, check the box which says "Ignore font sizes specified on Webpages", Click OK twice and you're finished.

Here it is in visual form:

Because the base IE source code hasn't changed in ten years. It's just slow to catch up with the rest of the world. I find Firefox better in almost every respect.
