So? They [Iraqis] are setting up military field headquarters in them. The last one that was secured had a torture chamber in it. Hardly a hospital.

That of course justifies killing the babies inside the hospital, right?
Are you suggesting that this particular hospital was in military use as well, any proof for that?
But let's better wait if this report can be confirmed.

The opposite works pretty good too..
After a millitary building is hit, you can turn it into a hospital..

Yes, all American bombs and missiles are deliberately set to hit civilian buildings such as hospitals. We cheer in the streets at the news of dead civilians, and we can't wait for more good news of this type.
Did you know that American soldiers actually "rescue" civilians and put them in Iraqi hospitals so that we can bomb them later?
We really hate the red cross too! Anything we can do to get them is wonderful.

First of all: If there is going to be a push for Baghdad, we're going to see a lot more civilians killed, so we'd better get start steeling ourselves.
Secondly: A maternity hospital?
Are there other things of a civilian nature that are being hit and that we never hear about, or is it phenomenal bad luck that whenever a missile goes astray it lands in either a busy market place or on a maternity hospital?

...why didn't you wait for said confirmation BEFORE you posted???
Oh, I know - the attack on Iraq is evil, right?
Of course the coalition would hit a maternity hospital, right?
You are SOOOOOOOOOOOOOO transparent.

I know few people around here care, but it looks like we did not hit the hospital.
From a reuters report:
The International Committee of the Red Cross said the hospital had not taken a direct hit but was damaged by blast from a missile that hit a building across the street.

The alleged torture chamber was in a prison (http://www.guardian.co.uk/thewrap/story/0,1188,927981,00.html), not a hospital.
Meanwhile, the Mirror reports from a prison in southern Iraq, where a couple of tyres and a live electric cable testify to the torture carried out by the local police. The chief's desk is full of Iraqi ID cards whose owners, it is clear, no longer require them.
You know, if you just mix and match your news bits like this, you are unlikely to be taken seriously.

"Ammunition, mortars, maps and a terrain model were found at the hospital, he said, along with “other things that made it very clear it was being used as a military command post.”"
"Sanders reported that Lynch was originally held at another nearby hospital used by Iraqi forces and where Marines last week found a bloody uniform used by U.S. servicewomen. They had also found a room with a bed and large battery next to it, indicating to Marines that it had been used as a torture chamber."
Fortunately, it looks like the hospital where PFC Lynch was held last, did not engage in torture, at least until we get a report about the bodies buried there........

Note the word "allegedly" in the thread's title. One meaning of this word is "unconfirmed".
Learn your own language please.

Also, 95% of the posters in here don't know what LOAC means without googling it.

The Lake Ontario Archives Conference (http://www.google.com/search?sourceid=navclient&q=loac)? I'm sure it's very interesting, Lisa, but I'm not sure I see the relevance

Well - a hearty thanks to you for giving the US military a generous benefit of the doubt!
Can't wait until the next "alleged" mistake/tradegy post from you - or U_A_P - or Crocadile Dundee - or Moses - or Q-Tip, etc., etc.
Barkhorn.
