Mr. Chick, that kind and loving soul who demonstrates a complete understanding of science and religions other than his own, has produced yet another work of fine art. It's called "Something in Common?"
Profound discussion is encouraged.

Profound discussion? This is the Dark Dungeons dude, yeah? (sidenote: been playing D&D for 22 years now, and I still haven't learned the "real spells" that I'm supposed to. Bugger.)
Well, let's see... he's right, we're NOT descended from monkeys (though we share a common ancestor). Erm... we do all die, I'm cool with that. Barring the "breatharians", we do all have to eat as well (apparently breatharians consumption of cheeseburgers and so forth doesn't count).
As for the rest... well, it appears to be grammatically correct, for the most part. That's the only nice thing I can think of to say about it.

I'm sure i've seen the mummified Jesus and the cloud heaven with Jesus being kicked out before. Is Chick recycling panels?
I like Gods magical arrow shaped transport ships.
And acording to the third frame dogs are decended from Adam and Eve...

So we're all descended from one pair of humans? That means Adam and Eve's children all had to commit incest with each other; then their children all had to marry their cousins and uncles and aunts.... Well, it explains a few things, I suppose.
I wonder why Chick has never done a tract showing us Adam and Eve's happy home life after they got kicked out of the Garden, had their brood and settled down to being proud grandparents of the human race? It would be an example to us all!

I should have quoted the entire passage from the tract...
"Mary wore her hottest outfit and invited God over to do some blow. God, the Holy Spirit, came upon Mary and the child was conceived. Mary videotaped the whole thing and sold copies at the market for four sheckles."

"God sent his son..." NO, god sent himself. Just because he has virtual sex with Mary and she gets pregnant with god does not make god AKA Jesus his son.
BTW, when your pregnant with the almighty do you still get stretch marks and crave the equivalent of pickles and Ice Cream?
I remember being in High School and studying Greek and Roman mythology. Those silly folks. Imagine believing such silly stories.
Now, what did I believe? Let's see...
God turned Lot's wife into a pillar of salt for having the unmitigated gaul to look back.
Aaron's rod turned into a serpent and so did Pharaoh's magicians.
Moses parted the Red Sea.
Food falling from the sky.
Jesus walking on water.
Jonah being swallowed by a fish.
Jesus turning water into wine.
Blind people getting sight. Etc., etc.

That fruit Adam's chowing on looks a bit off. Perhaps Original Sin wasn't disobeying God, but rather some sort of inheritable indigestion. God's irritation could be due to Adam and Eve ignoring the "Best before 05/05/6000 BC" sticker.

According to the panel that says:

Mary is obviously some kind of Bukake slut and the Holy Spirit is really God’s ambulatory penis.

I think the fruit that Adam's eating looks king of like a Kong (a type of chew toy for dogs that you can stuff with peanut butter and other stuff).
Love the quotes from people as their going to hell. And the little boxes where you can check 'Heaven' or 'Hell'.

Actually, this seems to be a stupid idea in the biological community. It should wither and die.
I'm sure there are any number of common single person ancestors of everyone -- in a 6 Degrees of Kevin Bacon sort of way. But there's no reason that there must be an "Eve" somewhere. In fact, it's illogical. The breeding population never got less than a few hundred worldwide, I'm sure. If it did, we would have died out.
Heck, some biologists now think Neanderthals didn't "go extinct" in that some last Neanderthal died somewhere. They just merged in with "normal" humans since they could interbreed.
As if 10,000 years from now, some hybrid Euro/Afro/Asian dude walking around wonders where the hell all the Europeans, Africans, and Asians went.

I don't think so. The y is uncapitalised, and if Chick were to print an uncapitalised reference to God he would burn in Hell with me and 1inch's daughters.
So, I'm stuck on who it refers to, but I like the quote.

I laughed when I read it and then thought "wait, what does it mean?"
I think it might be a reference to the fundie idea that Buddhists are passive, unconnected, apathetic etc. but I'm not sure.
My favorite is "I love my sin ... Oops"

TruthSeeker

Just the "I'm a Buddhist" would have sufficed.

I one compares the cartoons in racist posters from Nazi Germany portraying the Jews as loathsome vile creatures, to the cartoons of Jack Sh%t, you may see some similarities. I'm sure he includes the whole of Judaism in his 'hell' goers.

Note 'good' Jesus is drawn with a small pointy 'anglo' nose, and the other 'evil' Jews are drawn with larger 'semitic' noses.
(His style reminds me of anti-Jewish propagandist literature from WW2).
The recent discovery of the 'Hobbit' culture (Homo floresiensis) in Indonesia directly challenges Chick's assertion that everyone alive now descended from Noah's family on the ark about 4000 years ago.

Does Chick have a collection of stereotypes that he brings out for his tracts? How unworldly would you have to be to believe that his depictions of jews/blacks/asians/witches bare any resemblance to reality?
