There is no limit to human credulity. I think some of these things arise from boredom with astrology, mysticism, divination with chicken entrails and homeopathy, etc. It never stops and it started a long time ago.

Well, at least they're using a replenishable resource that does no harm to the animals, unlike some cultures that use ground up rhino horns and other animal parts that require the death of the animal, particularly upsetting when it involves endangered species.
