By the way what is everyone's comment on the ANTI-SEMITISM and ANTI-CHRISTIAN Behavior in France?
also from all the links shown above,do you believe it is a problem or just a few isolated incidents.

Every country has it's problems. If I had as much time on my hands I dare say I could provide as many web pages that might support a view that the USA is riven by intolerance.

Hello billiefan2000 I will post my 2 responses from the other similar thread here in hopes maybe you can respond in a mature way here.
1st one
billiefan2000 my friend as very usual you have posted a text book statement of a hypocrite.
You call France Jew hating. Here we find
1- You insinuate ALL French hate Jews, this is of course most likely wrong and also bearing false witness a “sin” in your religion.
You write; THE FRENCH are OUTRIGHT RACIST and ANTI-SEMITIC and SELLOUTS
Here you:
1- again insinuate ALL French are racist, anti- Semitic and sellouts so again bearing false witness against all French who are not.
2- You call the French these things while being just the very thing you call them, an OUTRIGHT RACIST. I have noticed it in your world wrong to hate Christians and Jews but good and excepted to hate many other groups, peoples, races and or religions or people of any belief or non-belief that is not Christian of Jewish. This makes you a hypocrite.
[quote]So why anyone would like those racist bastards who run France or the bigots in France is beyond lagic. [QUOTE]
So by your logic who could love you? This is because your actions are the very actions you accuse every single person in France of being.
Be well my friend and let go of all the anger, hate/fear you grasp so tightly to..
Be well
2nd one
billiefan2000 my friend I hope you are well letting go of this great hatred you are filled with will bring you more peace.
Again you avoid conducting a adult conversation and avoid answering in an honest way anything that is said to you. To be dishonest is a form of lying and a sin in your belief, to bear false witness is also a sin in your belief.
You are also dishonest, lie in accusing me in saying I said there was NO anti-Semitism in France. Please show me in the words I posted where I said there was NO anti-Semitism in France. I know you will not as you can not, you are dishonest and have lied.
As you know I pointed out your misrepresentation that all French are anti-Semites.
I hate no one I am not anti anyone, You in this post and many of yours make it clear you hate many and are anti.
Anti-French
Anti-Arab
Anti-non Christian which is 76% of the worlds population
Anti-Christians that do not believe as you do, i.e. Mormans, Jw’s etc
You are Anti-Liberals. There too my friend you say I am a Liberal ( as if that was a bad or evil thing) I am not liberal nor conservative I live my life in the middle way I avoid all extremes. Learn too far to the right or left and you become unbalanced.
Please explain to me why it is OK to be anti- all the people or groups that you are but bad for the people to be anti-Semites? You are BOTH wrong.
My friend you believe yourself to be a good Christian but hate, lie etc if that is a Good Christian I hate to see a bad one.

For the first link...way to go.
For the others....read your own links. It is connected to a wide variety of factors, not a state policy of France.

Billiefan...who is not a scholar of history...doesn't recognize that anti-Semitism in France (like many European countries and the US too), is a idea of great power and long standing. More importantly, it is and has often been the province of "christians"...(save for the fact, of course, that Billiefan doesn't recognize Catholics as Christians). For hundreds of years, the French have had periodic bouts of severe anti-Semitism...begining with King Phillip August (I think, or it may have been Phillip le' Bon) who ordered that Jews be expelled from France, confiscating property and burning many at the stake. Than, let us not forget Dryfus and the Dryfus Affair, which was used by many conservative Christian organizations to persecute Jews and ignite a global-round of Anti-Semitism at the turn of the last Century. THe point is merely that French anti-Semitism is nothing new, and is and has been fuled historically by "christians"...Le Pen, after all, is a "christian" .... and a prime example of the periodic bent that right-wing French politicos have to fan the flames of anti-Semtism.
If Billiefan read more than Tim Lahay books, he might know some of that history....

I've been living here in France for a while now. I do observe that French society struggles with itself to overcome a lingering current of anti-semitism. However, since the current is generally subtle rather than acute these days, it can be difficult for France to look within herself and recognize it.
With respect to anti-Christianism in France, I would say that there is a fairly strong streak of anti-clericalism, combined with a prevailing secularist political philosophy that could be described as at times overzealous.

A recent study (for the christian newspaper La Croix) found 69% of french (or is that "free"?) adults see themselves as catholic (and 22% as non-believer/atheist). 49% of these go to mass "from time to time", which I guess means for Christmas and maybe Easter. Of the remaining 20%, half never go to mass, and the rest go at least once a month.
There you are.
