I don't know how often Randi will have the opportunity to publish a Commentary on April 1st - is it once every seven years? But I was looking forward to today's being the one in which he announces that Sylvia Browne has agreed to the preliminary test, or that he had learned that he was Plato in a past life, or that he was abducted by visitors from another planet, or that he is renouncing his position and converting to Islam. Yeesh, what a curmudgeon.

Yeah, but who here would believe that? ;-)

April Fools jokes are best when they are somewhat believable. Folks here are kinda lacking in believing department...

Anyway, if anyone has a good idea for some April Fools that might be fitting the commentary, please post here! Maybe we'll be able to have good laugh anyway.

I'll start:
Voodoo dolls effective way to hurt enemies!
Skepctics, unbelievers and assorted heathens are in shock, as the agencies propagate news of successful use of voodoo dolls to attack people. As the premier research shows, these magical items can be used to exact revenge on enemies and business competitors. Once said doll is well stuffed with pins and nails, 9" variety being the best, it can definitely hurt anyone it is thrown at.

And he even put a socking great spoiler box in the announcement reading "APRIL FOOL". And still they fell for it.

The real fun bit is trying to figure who was really fooled and which po-faced jokers were just going along with the gag.

I completely ignored this announcement... and even if I didn't, I wouldn't be able to recognize it for what it is, not knowing the people here good enough.

Apparently that announcement was quite believable to some people... though it seems to me that most participants in that thread are not fooled.

(Edit)
And I havent at first thought to select the text to see what's in the white box. I thought it was placeholder for some image my proxy filtered out.

I think Hans and a few others did believe it though. There are a couple of threads in Community from people who were fooled, at least initially.
