What are the rules this time? When do I have to post the numbers...before or after? I'm going to do them all this time, I'm going to the store now to get one of those slips where you fill in the numbers, then I'm going to take it back later and have them run it through the machine and give me my number.
Can't wait.

I simply did not have the time to use my pendulum tonight, so I decided to go ahead and use my intuition, which is not claimed to be accurate when attempting to be used at will. Still, I thought I would give it a whirl.
Tonight's numbers are:
10 15 16 31 35 PB25
11 23 26 39 40 PB37

So you can forsee powerball numbers, but when you posted earlier today you couldn't forsee that you would be too busy to back up your claim?
Can't wait.
I can't wait for the next big claim or lame excuse for not going through with it.
I simply did not have the time to use my pendulum tonight, so I decided to go ahead and use my intuition, which is not claimed to be accurate when attempting to be used at will. Still, I thought I would give it a whirl.
Always an out. Here are some of my predictions:
1) You will not pick the correct powerball numbers regardless of what methods you try.
2) You will always have some excuse as to why.
3) You will continue to believe in/make outrageous claims.
Let's see how my predictions hold up. So far I am batting 1.000.

Why don't you use that pendulum of yours to find out how much longer you're going to keep making excuses? Although, my intuition is telling me the answer to that one already.

Mayfig is a repeat annoyance. Ideally, JREF would win over people to critical thinking by being sweet as honey to everyone regardless of their aggression, intrasigence annoyance or ignorance. However, upbraiding JREF for getting crotchety at people whose only apparent purpose is to stir up trouble is cherry picking. I've seen excellent responses to people with paranormal claims presented in a non confrontational way.

Could you perhaps follow through on at least one claim?
I'll take this from the top:
JREF Forums - Is Bigfoot considered Paranormal
http://forums.randi.org/showthread.php?s=&threadid=52280
Still have not built a bigfoot trap have you?
JREF Forums - I can tell a lot about a person by their palms, let me read yours.
http://forums.randi.org/showthread.php?s=&threadid=52918
Still have not successfully read a palm from any of the forum members, have you?
JREF Forums - Ghost Hunt Tonite!!! Be there or BeWare!
http://forums.randi.org/showthread.php?s=&threadid=53251
Still haven't gotten out to the cemetary with your camera yet, have you?
JREF Forums - Brain Waves...maybe some of you skeptics should try to catch one.
http://forums.randi.org/showthread.php?s=&threadid=54186
At the start of this thread, you could make the pendulum swing with brainwaves. Further on, you were going to give it a try? Have you kept trying? Has it happened yet?
JREF Forums - Communication with the Deceased is Possible
http://forums.randi.org/showthread.php?s=&threadid=52453&perpage=40&pagenumber=5
Have you recorded any EVP with your digital recorder yet?
I also post this thread just for the great line you came out with (and I quote):
"I am not one to easily cry out paranormal or the boogey man."
I have to admit though, for sheer entertainment value only, you can hold your own. I have to wonder if you are using the forum as some kind of setting for a sitcom script, or plot device for a movie comedy ?

Can you imagine how dull this site would be if everyone who participated was a perfectly rational sceptic? What would we have to argue about? People like Mayday aren't an annoyance, they're practically the raison d'etre of the site.
In the case of Mayday in particulary, I don't think it's justified to infer that her only apparent purpose is to stir up trouble. It seems to me that the most likely explanation for her posts is that she genuinely believes in the various paranormal phenomena she posts about. I fail to see the logical justification for her beliefs but neither can I see any logical justification for meeting her claims with agression. Just what do you suppose that is likely to achieve?

I didn't guarantee or purport to be able to determine what the powerball numbers would be.
It was just for fun.
It was all in fun. But I don't think some of you stiffs understand what that is (like that pompous, cynical, arrogant obnoxious Danish dork (Santa) Claus...he/it REALLY gives me the creeps!)
I really intended to use my magic pendulum to determine the PB nummbers, I just didn't get the chance. So I had to rely on quick thinking at the powerball station, shading in numbers at random.
Better luck next time.

And in your opinion that warranted a new thread?
Are you going to start a new thread each time you feel like tossing out a completely inaccurate guess?

I tried to be civil and patient with Mayday in the beginning. I tried to answer her ramblings in the most benign manner possible. But after having been labelled as a 'skeptimaniac' and having been told to get a brain because I don't believe in the ability of the mind to move a pendulum, I see every logical justification in meeting her claims with aggression.

I'm curious as to how long it takes to use the "magic pendulum"?
Minutes, hours, days?
I guess if it takes 8 days to get it to work that would be the problem with the PB.
If it was important enough to post here, surely it was important enough to take the time to prevent the post looking ridiculous?
The usual excuses we hear of its 'not predictable', and 'you can't just switch it on and off' and 'I have no control' etc...etc. lead to only one conclusion.
Should such powers be real, and evidence plainly indicated that they are delusion, they are of such little use, reliability and practicality that real or not their existence is moot.
The comment about "Danish dork (Santa) Claus" lends little to any credibility and enhances the ridiculous nature of the post.

This is not a "dating" club. She is happy that somebody out there even bothers to talk to her at all.
Obviously her own circle of friends and family (and I use the terms loosely) completely ignore her lunacy.
Imagine her surprise and excitement that a group of above average intelligent people (on this forum) treat her like she has an IQ of over 60.
Seriously folks... it is time to stop feeding the troll !

lol, maybe there are other six psyhics that can predict one number each to add to the powerball number, I just wish they'd post the numbers here though otherwise if I go to them they'd charge me too much.
or Maybe I can write them an IOU letter saying:

In what sense was I advocating aggression towards people such as Mayday? I was merely stating that it is understandable when people get annoyed with those who repeatedly act in ways which are annoying and it is unreasonable to expect perfect tolerance all the time. I wouldn't say that asking for justification of a repeated assertion constitutes aggression.
Of course we need people with different (kooky, ignorant, silly and comedical :D ) points of view in order to make discussion interesting. However, even in my short time here, I've already approached boredom with the posts of (for example) Kumar and jzs and in a sense CFLarsen.
Not (especially in CFlarsen's case) because I don't agree with what they have to say, but because what they post is rarely a surprise. Kumar will dance around a line between 100% gibberish and almost coherent (sometimes interesting) arguments. jzs and CFlarsen will derail threads with their bickering etc.
I put it to you that people like Mayday can be annoyance depending on how bored you are of the way they interact with you and others.
I just realised where the whole aggression part of your post came from. jzs originally referred to CF's post as openly hostile and my response didn't address this clearly. I should have said that CF's post seemed to evidence impatience rather than open hostility and then gone on about why impatience is justified.

Obviously to test the claim that the pendulum is 90% accurate, Mayday will have to make a minimum of 10 predictions, with 9 of them correct. I'd admit +/-1 to be acceptable. Is this Powerball thing a weekly draw? That's a minimum of 10 weeks. I'd prefer she make 100 predictions and is matched against the next 100 weeks, but you can't have everything.
If the Magic pendulum can maintain a 90% accuracy (+/- say 10%) over 100 draws, even for just the single ball, that would be a cool million in the bag.
