The pictures he sees broadcast on the Middle East's three 24-hour Arabic news channels are the same ones seen in the Western world: grainy videophone images of smoldering Iraqi tanks at Baghdad's Saddam Airport.

But Ashraf said he knows the road to Baghdad and there are many villages on it. He said there is no way U.S. troops could have moved so far so fast.

His audience agreed and began to chant support for Iraqi President Saddam Hussein.

A wise man once said "If you have to believe in something to make it real, then it's make-believe!"

I'm guessing that's not a skeptic's convention going on in Jordan eh??

Check out this article:

"Saddam is an American agent. We have known that for a while. He works for the United States. That means that this whole war is useless. All of this destruction will not lead to Saddam's end. It is all make-believe," said Ibrahim.

"Iraq and the United States are working together to destroy the Iraqi people."

...

But strangers rarely discuss politics in a country where Iraqis see Saddam posters virtually everywhere they look.

"People who come and get a haircut are silent. Everyone wants Saddam to go but nobody says a word," said Abdullah, a barber. "You never know who you are taking to."
