...Fox News Polls show that 70-80% of Americans support President Bush and his War on Iraq.
Daily I hear of the unwavering support from all sides, except for those elitists snobs from Academia and Hollywood, they are as anti-american as they come.
'I' think those who support this War are those common peoples found up and down the bible belt. Those who aren't corrupted by foreign news outlets, and those who haven't been misled by terrorist sympathizers.
Have YOU avoided news outlets that challenge your views? Do you avoid reading World History books and editorials about how the Middle East became what it is today? If so, then YOU are also likely to be a supporter of this War.
On the other hand, if you are one of those over-informed, college educated know-it-alls, who has a smart ass response for everything, then you probably don't support this War.
There is a quote about how to lead a pople to want to make War. It has something to say about telling them they are being attacked, and that their way of life is in danger. However, my point is that for it to work, the people under such rule have to be willing to NOT seek out the truth.
Is the common man stupid, uninformed, or just misled?
Regardless of that answer, this War exists because they have been led to believe it was a good idea.

The "common man" is doing fine...you are the useful idiot who is stupid, uninformed, and misled.
Tell me where you get your news, and what books you have read on Iraq and Saddam.
From the late great Michael Kelly:
America has its flaws. But war involves choosing sides, and the American side -- which was, after all, the side of liberalism, of progressivism, of democracy, of freedom, of not chucking gays off rooftops and not stoning adulterers and not whipping women in the town square, and not gassing minority populations and not torturing advocates of free speech -- was surely preferable to the side of the "Islamofascists," to borrow a word from the essayist and former man of the left, Christopher Hitchens.
Which is the point: Hitchens is a former man of the left. In the left's debate, Hitchens insisted that progressives must not in their disdain for America allow themselves to effectively support the perpetuation of despotism, must not betray the left's own values. Others -- notably the political philosopher Michael Walzer, the independent essayist Andrew Sullivan, New Republic writer Jonathan Chait and New York Observer columnist Ron Rosenbaum -- also made this argument with great force and clarity.
The debate is over. The left has hardened itself around the core value of a furious, permanent, reactionary opposition to the devil-state America, which stands as the paramount evil of the world and the paramount threat to the world, and whose aims must be thwarted even at the cost of supporting fascists and tyrants. Those who could not stomach this have left the left -- a few publicly, as did Hitchens and Rosenbaum, and many more, I am sure, in the privacy of their consciences.
The war exists because of the danger of a ruthless dictator stoking his thirst for revenge by developing and making available a host of different WMD's to Islamofacist terroist groups. Making war on creeps like this is not just a good idea...it's the best idea.
There have been no further successful terror attacks against America since 9/11....do you suppose that is just a coincidence? Could you possibly be that dense??

I depends on what your major was. If you studied english or communications I could easily see you not supporting this war.

Philosophy... you see the arguments for what they are: sh*t and lies.
I guess if one were a PE major they'd support the war.

Rik, I sincerely hope that the Bushteam's two wars in as many years has led to this noncoincidence. I don't put as much stock in it as you... and I further hope you're not terribly, tragically wrong.

Probably true. A health science major studies using scientific methods. They learn how to measure results, chart graphs, all that great stuff.
Some moron who thinks he is a philosopher because he studied philosophers is the kind of mark I expect to see at an ANSWER rally.

...cause and effect would result in a differing opinion as to what does and does not cause Terrorism, and how to best keep it from happening.
Why and when we fight, has just as much to do with why people attack us when they do.

Well if I'm wrong it's my ass as well. I'm in DC every weekday, and sometimes have OT on the weekend. Sitting in the most prestigious terrorist target in the world does not worry me anymore. After 9/11, for a few months there it was hard to sleep soundly....but now I am of the informed opinion that working in DC is not just safe, but perhaps one of the very safest locations on the planet. (if you discount the crime and traffic that is :) ) I guess only time will really tell if I'm right or not....
WTF....we can't live forever ya know? ;)

I dual majored in English Lit & Writing, and currently work in advertising (a communications field if there ever was one).
I support the living sh*t out of this war.

Here we go again. The King thinks the dust has settled enough from last time that no one will remember his "let's appease the terrorists" strategy.
For the record, the King has little formal education, despite his overuse of archaic English terms. Since he's a "King" I expect we can safely assume that he is inbred as well.
