The MSNBC story that was linked to in this weeks column was a good one, though too short in my opinion.
What is more troubling is the appearant effort by the editors to "smooth over" the fact that many of their readers might get the feathers ruffled by this story.
That aformentioned story had such eye-popping bits as:
"In NBC's TV show “Medium,” Patricia Arquette plays Allison Dubois, a real-life Arizona housewife who can communicate with dead people. Dubois was studying law when she discovered her psychic abilities could provide research in solving murders and missing-person cases."
-Caption to the opening picture of the story
And the "related stories" gives us this:
More articles on psychics, clairvoyants
• Mediums work with police to solve crimes
• In ‘Medium’ Arquette sees dead people
• My Turn: "Out of the Candlelight and Into the Spotlight"
• Dialing for dead people
• Psychic’s warning prompts search of jet
I did pop over to their Horoscope section, hoping to find a link to the Bad Astronomers debunking of astrology (you have all read it at http://www.badastronomy.com/bad/misc/astrology.html , correct?)
Alas, such a thing wasn't in the cards. Or stars.
Whichever.
