I'm guessing the website that hosted his article has an automated advert placement. It probably scanned the article, found key words, and placed those ads.
Shame really...

That is a major problem with web ads: The filters are way too unsophisticated to be of any value.
There's a popular morning tv show in Denmark for kids, and they've got a pretty good website as well. Unfortunately, the web ads are from pension funds, insurance companies and banks, something the kids who visit the site have absolutely no interest in...

You are so, prejudiced, Claus, so adultocentric! Is it really that hard for you to accept that some kids are far-sighted and like to plan an early retirement in time?

Tell me about it. At the moment my Blog adverts are for something to do with the crucifxion. (http://www.pagetworld.plus.com/blogger.htm)
You can filter ads on a url-by-url basis, but they've got plenty of credophile ones where that came from.

Not to mention gmail "context sensitive" ad links - for some reason my gmail account seems to think I am a hemorrhoid sufferer - guess it's from so many of my correspondents telling me where I can stick it....

I was amused, when reading the initial online news accounts of the "human finger found in Wendy's chili" story (now possibly turning into a hoax investigation) to see that all the advertisements placed with the story were for meat grinders/slicers.

LOL
Sorry about that. I was having some problems posting on another site and I wanted to see if it had any affect on this message board. I had nothing to say so I just typed "test" to see if it took.
I'm glad it did, so it isn't my computer.
I also heard about that finger story. The last thing I saw on the news was that the woman possibly planted it. They can't find any workers who lost a finger.:D

I also thought about the montezuma's joke but he beat me to it. :(
