unitedforpeace.org has a nifty page of chants and songs about the iraqi conflict.
Gems such as:
Geroge Bush, hear our cry
No more innocent civillians should die
Now, I thought this was an anti-war website but you can see clearly here they believe Bush should remove Saddam for humanitarian reasons. So now I am confused.
Here is another gem:
If Bush and Cheney start a war,
we won't vote for them no more!
Now, this is also confusing. Bush and Gore split the popular vote. I guess the problem with those butterfly ballots wasnt miscast Gore votes but miscast Bush votes. I guess these people meant to hit Bush but instead hit Gore (while the Gore voters mistakenly voted for Buchanan). Now, call me skeptical, but when I see protests like San Francisco, I see a bunch of people who either voted for Gore, Nader, or were too stoned to vote. However, people who are pro-peace are probably too virtuous to lie. So I hope Bush listens up since these people won't vote for him again.
Another Gem:
No Blood for oil
Stop the War on Iraq!
It doesn't rhyme, and at first I couldn't figure out the meaning of it. It didn't make sense on any level. So, I tried thinking outside the box. As far as I can figure, they believe that when we get barrels of oil, we return them with blood in them in exchange. I used to think we paid money for that oil but thanks to this very intelligent chant I am now enlightened.
The Songs section seems to be a typo. Most of the songs seem to be basically anti-Bush and not pro-peace per se. This must be the work of malicious hackers. One of the songs suggests that the war is a coverrup for Noelle Bush's drug problems. I doubt a pro-peace website would level such an accusation so I assume the comment was planted by hackers from the vast right wing conspiracy to discredit the anti-war movement.
