I caught a few minutes of his insane drivel. He was asked by a caller about the dearly departed speaking through appliances. He actually had the nerve to claim "a healthy amount of skepticism" toward such claims, but then went on to say that even the living can do that trick by "manipulating energy." What an ultramaroon.

Donnie Deutsch (the host) is a total suck up to every guest he has on, and agrees with everything they ever say. At one point, I used to think he had something useful to contribute, until I realized that he basically kissed everyone's arse. It took something like two episodes to realize he was useless.

i think an objective introduction would have gone something like...
"Here's John Edward who claims to speak to the dead..."

I think saying "...who of course talks to the dead" is a bit sarcastic, like how could you question such a thing, it's perfectly normal, why aren't you talking to the dead, why didn't I think of it as an easy way to make money...
