. In a few days - after some discussion of this post - I shall prove that God exists. – lifegazer posted 04-05-2005 07:35 PM
If not then I feel compelled to say:
Friday April 22th. 17 days have passed and still no word/proof

Haven't seen any of it yet. Still just babbling about how we should treat reality as an illusion, and illusion as reality, and then get mad when some people figure it's more logical the other way around.

LG has gone on some sort of bible thumping rave.

I miss it when I'm here and reading all of his posts, despite all the subtle hinting that I'm supposed to pretend that he already did.

@#1: if you have to ask for it, you've already missed it :o

Says one who demands "truth" but can offer no proof.
May I ask you to imagine this.
You were ill, feeling very sick and are making your way to the hospital. A man comes along telling you he was a very famous DR and do not go to the hospital he hands you a small bottle containing a liquid. He tells you this liquid will cure you no matter what you have, just “trust me”.
Will you not ask for proof he is a DR?
Will you not ask for proof this liquid has been tested and proven to be safe and of help etc?
Or will you simply think to yourself “if you have to ask for it( facts, proof), you've already missed it”?
If I tell you what you believe is all a lie will you simply believe me and think to yourself “if you have to ask for it( facts, proof), you've already missed it”?

Uh, yeah.
Yes, he did. Oh, it was very nice.
Very, very nice. Spiffy.
Shame you missed it, because I don't see how something like that could be repeated -- I mean, WOW.
It really sucks that you missed it.

Don´t worry.
Just surround yourself with a barrier of lack of reason and logic, with variable ammounts of spices such as egocentrism, fanatism, closed-mind, etc. That´s all you´ll nede to see the "proof".

LG is sort of zen in a way... instead of the sound of one hand clapping, it's a written visual of one mind flopping. :)
No revelation yet, Pan. Welcome back, and I need one of those vacations... :D

From your lips to LG's ears. ;)
FYI, Good 'ol LG has resumed his activities... only he's not posting his revelation. He's posting in the Proof of God? PRIME MOVER thread (http://forums.randi.org/showthread.php?s=&threadid=56070). It wouldn't do to have you miss out on the fun. :D

I have not seen LG much, is he cheating on us with another broad I mean board? I feel so cheap he fills us with empty promises, “miracles” “ Proof” and then just leaves us feeling empty.:(

Says one who demands "truth" but can offer no proof.
i quit. no beating that. done. you win the argument. meh tucks tail between legs, runs through thread. :D
one of these two is true:
1) there is no proof of god
2) there is proof of god, but it is not accepted
in your case, number two applies.
May I ask you to imagine this.

3) Or will you simply think to yourself “if you have to ask for it( facts, proof), you've already missed it”?
1) I won't even bother asking for proof. I dismiss him cordially from my presence and that is that. No logic, no reasoning, no critical thinking. I get myself to the hospital, end of story.
2) This would be a waste of my time. I would have summarily dismissed him and have already been enroute to the hospital.
now, if i ask the DR to ride with me to the cemetary and we park at my grandma's grave. then, i ask the DR to raise her from the grave, because i'd like to talk to her. if the DR does that, i will most likely drink what he has offered me. but, he'd have no need for the drink anyway. a simple wave of the hand or touching his clothes is most likely all that is needed.
If I tell you what you believe is all a lie will you simply believe me and think to yourself “if you have to ask for it( facts, proof), you've already missed it”?
Here's the difference: You're not God.

Greetings Riddick

LOL, I am sorry did you provide proof of God and I missed it? If so please do again post it if it seems to the truth, is fully logical I will believe in God, I do not fear truth. If there is a God or a million or none is irrelevant to me but if one or 2 or what ever the case may be is fact I of course would be silly not to believe it.
one of these two is true:
1) there is no proof of god
2) there is proof of god, but it is not accepted
in your case, number two applies.
How does #2 apply to me?
I see no evidence of a god or God so # 1 would be more fitting to me. I see no proof and no one has offered any so there is none to be accepted or not accepted.
That is unless you have proof and if that is the case I will be happy to have a conversation and share ideas on your proof after you offer it.
But you believe I should believe in a God simply because LG or you or another tells me there is one? That is illogical.
now, if i ask the DR to ride with me to the cemetary and we park at my grandma's grave. then, i ask the DR to raise her from the grave, because i'd like to talk to her. if the DR does that, i will most likely drink what he has offered me. but, he'd have no need for the drink anyway. a simple wave of the hand or touching his clothes is most likely all that is needed.
But there is no proof any human or “God” has done such, just stories and beliefs. I respect you believe such but it is just belief. Would you simply have me believe it because you do?
Please remember there is no one solid story of this event even in the Bible there are several versions in the Bible alone. If the Bible can not get the story straight why would I believe it?
Here's the difference: You're not God.
LOL LG says I am.. But I agree I am not God, I exist and can be proven, I am not myth. Now God may be in fact true, may I ask you prove it to me?

You know, I'm sure I'm not the only one who's been thinking this, but I haven't seen any (recent) post bringing it up:
According to P.S.A.'s research, lifegazer seems to have spewed his "everything is an illusion" stuff for about six years now (at the very least 4). Assuming this is correct, then lifegazer would have started his gig in 1999.
Now, can anyone think of a movie released in 1999 that had some pseudo-philosophical issues brought up that would sound really cool and deep until you started thinking properly through it? You know, a movie that would for example feature Keanu Reeves? And that would have some pretty good fighting sequences in it? And that basically said something to the effect of "life is an illusion, but if you treat it as an illusion, you can do anything you want"? (which is pretty damn close to being a god, if you ask me.)
Anyone remembering such a movie?
This can of course very well be just a coincidence. But hey, it's still a pretty good one, isn't it? And it doesn't seem that unlikely that lifegazer's "philosophy" would be based on The Matrix, does it?

To be fair, I could only find evidence for him as far back as 2001 if I recall correctly, but that Lifegazer was making the same claim he'd been posting his "philosophy" for "3 years" for nearly a year and a half alone, which made me wonder how long he'd actually been doing it... It was Lifegazer himself who, when shown this discrepency, admitted he'd been pushing his "philosophy" since 2001, but he'd been online since 1999. I think that he deliberately left himself some wiggle room, in case I found a quote from him for the earlier date too, which is why I say "Possibly as much as 6 years". But I couldn't be bothered to do the requisite deep search to prove this.
Lifegazer's denied the Matrix comparision I think though. But considering his magpie like tendancy to warp everything he experiences into feeding his own religious mania, it's not an unreasonable assumption to make. If he can pervert Christianity, then a film which got shallow thinkers everywhere believing they were philosophers isn't that much of a stretch...
