Regarding this week's commentary here:

http://www.randi.org/jr/042205modern.html#3

One of the Chicago Tribune's columnists, Eric Zorn, wrote this in his weblog here:

http://www.chicagotribune.com/news/columnists/ericzorn/weblog/

"Those who cite “faith” for the reason they believe that God himself creates these exceedingly poor likenesses on unusual canvases throughout the world erode the dignity and nobility of the term “faith.” If it means you’ll believe absolutely any wacky notion or farfetched idea that supports your religious outlook, it loses its ability to command respect."

I find that to be a nice statement.

Here's my favorite commentary: http://www.whitehouse.org/news/2005/042205.asp

Don't go here if you are easily offended.

The same thought occurred to me when I saw the photo - and I'm not even a lesbian! :)

Easily offended? :D

Anyway...

I had intended to start this thread immediately after I opened this week's commentary and thought that I had been accidentally diverted to a pornographic site. However, after spending some time exploring the picture in detail and comparing it with some pictures of the real thing, I completely forgot to do so.

Seemed glaringly obvious to me too - warped minds think alike!

I understand how he feels, but defacing public property is a crime. If he'd been a bit more clever he could have cleaned off the salt by cleaning it off with some "holy water" and maybe a little Miracle II soap.
