Perhaps this more properly belongs in the banter section because it deals with my feelings about what is going on, but I'm here now and so this is where I'm writing it.
I was watching the war news feeling optimistic about how the war was going but still pretty bad about the thousands of Iraqi soldiers that were dieing when I switched to MSNBC.
They had yet another Israeli talking head on. This one was going on about how the Palestinians don't value life the way they do. I was bummed. Why is this country (the US) so relentlessly assaulted with the Israeli view. Where are the Palestinian representatives? The Israeli's elect a mass murderer who seems to be playing out some sort of internal fantasy about eliminating any possibility of peaceful coexistence with his neighbors and the US does and says squat except that we now call the suicide bombers murder bombers. Jeez, I can't understand why we have so little credibility in the middle east. People are dieing including American soldiers because our administration has more courage to take a military risk (perhaps justified) than the political risk of confronting Sharon.
That's what I'm bummed about.
