Hope this hasn't already been posted.

______________

And for other internet stupidity...there's a post going around IMDB that reads the following...

"A girl died in 1933 by a homicidal murderer. He buried her in the ground when she was still alive. The murdered chanted, "Toma sota balcu" as he buried her. Now that you have read the chant, you will meet this little girl. In the middle of the night she will be on your ceiling. She will suffocate you like she was suffocated. If you post this, she will not bother you. Your kindness will be rewarded.

thanks a lot."

(I'm reproducing it just so you don't have to click the link, and because I can trust people on JREF to read this and not turn it into another chain letter.)

Here's an example of one such post. It has yielded a "moron roll call" of 55 people and counting.

I was the one who posted the "spot the idiots" part. I don't know why...but that particular one really pissed me off.

I'd like to do to those idiots what they did to that little girl. Some people are just stupid and cruel beyond words.

^%@#*&^$@#*(&^@(#*&^).

This is rather similar to something that's going around my workplace at the moment and the distress is immense. People don't deserve this and for it to happen to kids just makes me even more angry that I usually am about this nonsense.

Let's all hope justice prevails in this case.

Ok, lets try an experiment,
I have read the IMDB post, I have not reposted the paragraph.
If I am still alive tommorow, the post is nonsense, If I don't post again, its real.

What a load of ********. This sorta stuff just upsets me.
I think of this kinda thing every time I see parents taking their kids to church.

In my neghbourhood we have more churches than convenient stores. Why does this particular religius faction get so much presidence? It is intertwined with the laws and courts, and who knows what else.

I think the 'one day it will be right' attitude won't cut the mustard. I just have no clue about a new & effective way to fight this stupidity.

It's now been deleted by the admins at the IMDB. Unusual, they rarely delete a whole thread like that.

People like this... argh! Let's just all agree that they're sick. If not religion, they would have found some other excuse.

And I'm still alive, too. No nocturnal visits. :)

Thats a good point.
Religion = a good excuse.

I dunno about it being a good excuse - handy, maybe, obvious, sure... but good? ;)

It's interesting how the fear of the unknown plays into this.

"Toma Sorta Balcu" or whatever the chant was. That's scary. But if it was in some normal language...or if the chant was, say...."Ham on Cheese on Rye," you'd get a lot less 14-year-olds reposting your note.

It should have been

"Wata Nar Siam"*

* Old "It Ain't 'Alf Hot Mum" joke - you have to say it out loud for maximum amusement

Yes, this case is so sick, it's unbelieveable.

There was another thread on this last week or two weeks ago. There are some really nasty people about.
