Psychics Randi has debunked.

Honestly I don't know what forum to place this in. But I have come across a particular troll with a seemingly nefarious obsession with Randi. So, I was wondering if Randi has debunked any Latin American psychics. I spent much time searching, but I cannot find any decent hits. Thanks.

This isn't a lot of help but there was a pretty famous one a while back who we discussed briefly in (yet another) debate with Jambo about 'genuine' mediums.

He wasn't debunked by Randi specifically, but on a website it showed a famous photo of this guy 'levitating' and how clearly the photo had been manipulated.

He was a good few years ago as I recall...

Darn, I can't think of a way to search for it.

Anyone else remember the guy? The photo showed him levitating in a room, but when you look at the close up of his feet you can see the wallpaper pattern clearly doesn't match the wall behind it so the photo has been tampered with.

I'm sure he was a really famous Latin American 'medium' who claimed to be able to do all sorts of paranormal stuff.

Repeatedly banned from sceptics forums. Constant implications that just about ever sceptical organisation is riddled with paedophiles...

He's a lunatic. I don't know what his personal problem is, but it sounds serious. He needs help.

I don't think we're going to be able to provide you with enough evidence to counter this weirdo's claims - he has his own agenda and no-one is going to persuade him otherwise.

You can search and find masses and masses of threads about him here (he was banned from this forum but his threads should still be accessible) and also at www.skepticalcommunity.com (he was banned there) and also http://www.skepticforum.com/ (he was banned there).

My advice would be look at some of his threads here and at the two other sites and make your mind up if you have the stamina to enter into a "debate" with him.

Actually, he is not a very clever debater, and you can easily make him look silly. Apparently, he realizes this, because he then starts getting really nasty with his swear words and sexual accusations. It can take a long time, but it is actually possible by remaining calm to goad him into getting himself banned for his foul mouth.

Oh I agree he certainly is not a very good debater but he is persistent so unless someone has the stamina to "go all the way" (Did you see the bee-boy on the Skeptics Society forum :eek:) I would suggest not even starting to get involved in one of his "debates"!

It sounds like calling people paedophiles is basically his only form of attack. He is a dangerously sexual insult obsessed person.

It's more than slightly concerning that this is on his mind all the time, 24/7 for, apparently, months.

It sounds like debating this guy would be like getting into a biting competition with a rabid dog. You might get some damage in, but he just won't ever notice it.

Dragon and Luke T. are right - the absolute best way to annoy him will be to ignore him. It'll be difficult, but you can always come here and moan to us. :)
Ultimately it'll annoy him far more than anything you could ever say to him.

There was a marathon thread here about a video of the World Trade Center attack that latin and another poster were sure showed a UFO was involved. The Million Dollars was demanded and not forthcoming. Way too many people wasted way too much time debating over it, including one incredible photo analysis debunking by a professional (BlueMonk?). Collosal waste of time. And thus a mutual multidimensional grudge was born by all hands.

I never came across this bloke, thank goodness. By the sounds of it, he's lucky not to have been on the receiving end of a court case.

Yes, since my last post I've read some of the thread you're referring to at the other forum, nasty little bugger isn't he? He can be even more despicable. So he's following you onto other threads? That's one of the things he did here - turn up on other peoples threads spouting his off-topic nastiness.

This is something that has puzzled people for a long time. Basically, the conclusion is that if Carlos really is Latin, then he is really brilliant at maintaining separate identities. But there has been occasional slips where people have pointed out that Latin were attributing quotes of Carlos to himself, and the two appear and disappear synchronously.

One tip about Latin: when he starts on his usual tactics of accusing people of having sexual preferences that he disapproves of, thn write that his obsession with sex is probably due to his own sexual problems ... This almost made him stop at skepticalcommunity.
