In this weeks Motorcycle News (UK), James Randi seems to be putting the $1m up if the road safety people can prove their claim that speed is a major cause of accidents. Now i'm more of a biker than a sceptic but it doesn't seem too good a bet on Randi's part and is speeding 'paranormal'?

Anymore details on the story - a link or something?

(And welcome to the forums.)

I can only find this possible reference:

8 Cameras MCN’s £1m challenge reveals truth

Is this the article/story you are referring to? If so it doesn't look like (from that contents description) it has anything to do with the JREF challenge.

It sure does not sound right, Randi does not put the million Up as a wager, someone would have to apply for it. And if there is nothing paranormal referenced in the claim It would get tossed, from what I understand.

That's it. in the paper they've got a picture of randi as a 'research expert' and offering the $1m to the road safety people if they can prove their claims. you'll have to buy the paper!

Is James Randi mentioned by name in the article, or is there merely a picture of Randi, or someone who looks similar?

Can you provide us with a quote from the text?

btw... here's a book that seems to prove that homeopathy doesn't work:

If you want further details you'll have to buy the book.
