It was reported this evening that the Commander of HMS Ark Royal [Aircraft Carrier] threw the BBC off his ship today because he reportedly said that the crew couldn't stand the BBC's reporting.
Any UK person confirm?

Haven't seen anything about it over here...

Cynical old me says if it were true then Sky would have been all over the story like a bad rash...I haven't seen such a story on Sky news and there is no such story on Sky News' web-site...

I'd also find it hard to see what the forces were objecting to about the BBC coverage, it's been a model of reasoned debate compared to other channels I've been watching...

I'd mark it in the possible but highly unlikely category...

Did you not see the reports of BBC correspondents complaining that there reports were being misrepresented by the BBC in the UK. By that I mean that the correspondence accused London based editors of putting an anti-coalition bias when pieces went to air.

I can believe that there has been misrepresentation. I did see a nasty bit of work between a newsreader and a correspondent yesterday, in fact.

At about 5ish, after the statue came down - Rageh Omar in Baghdad was doing a piece live to the studio.

Newscaster: "Rageh, we saw maybe hundreds of people on the streets. But there are thousands of people in Baghdad. Where were they?"

Rageh: (blink blink) "Er, no, well, that was just the one thing that we were all filming. There have been hundreds of similar scenes throughout Baghdad, with thousands of people involved."

Newscaster: "Hrm".

Later That Same Day - about 8-ish, I think, another live piece to the studio on a News Special:

Same Newscaster: "But Rageh, we saw maybe thousands of people on the streets. But there are millions of people in Baghdad. Where were they?"

Rageh: Failed to say "You Git" but was clearly thinking it.

At least it's better than Sky News's bias, which would be something along the lines of;
Newsreader: Jubilation in Baghdad as US forces enter the city, now here's some film of coalition forces blowing ***** up!

No BBC on Ark Royal (http://media.guardian.co.uk/broadcast/story/0,7493,932306,00.html)

Perhaps you should re-examine your biases about Sky News.
