The latest Whitehouse grumblings imply that the UN will not have as big a role in forming the new Iraq. The reason being that they weren't in the fighting, so why let them take over now.

Is that a good idea?? This war isnt about the spoils of victory, its about freeing Iraq and dumping Saddam. Why not let the UN step in? For one, they can help with the rebuilding costs. Most importantly there's the perception of the imperial US. Wont freezing out the UN lend credibilty to that perception.
